Y/n POV
"Nick start the car NOW," I said as I got in, trying to avoid Tubbo.
"Wait why what's the rush?" he asked, clearly confused.
"NOW" I half-shouted. He looked confused but did as I said. I watched as Tubbo watched us drive away, getting smaller and smaller the further we went. I sighed in relief. We sat in silence for a few minutes.
"So are you gonna tell me why you're so eager to leave?" Nick finally said. I sighed.
"Not right now," I said. I guess he could sense the sadness in my voice because he left it alone after that.
When we got home I locked myself in the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I kept hearing Maddie's words over and over again in my head. But the real question was, were they true? As much as I tried to convince myself they weren't that thought still sat at the back of my head. Then I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to see Nick, offering me a soft smile.
"Hey I know that you're upset right now for some reason so do you want to play Minecraft with George, Clay and me?" he said. I smiled. It meant so much to me that Nick cared about me enough to do something like that. I nodded and went over to my PC. I turned on my PC and joined a discord with them before opening Minecraft.
"Hey y/n!" said George happily. I couldn't help but smile at his positive attitude.
"Hey, guys!" I said, already feeling a bit better.
We need up playing for a few hours and it was great. Not only was it a good distraction from what was going on, but it was just nice to catch up with them. Whether it was Nick screaming because Clay had killed him or Clay being a full-on simp for George. It was comforting for me. However, I couldn't fully enjoy myself as my phone was buzzing every 5 minutes. I was tempted to put it on silent but didn't in case Niki or someone else called me.
"Hey Karl's calling me I'll be right back," said Nick before muting his mic and walking out of the room.
"I'm gonna go get dinner started I think. Bye y/n!" said Clay, before leaving the call
That left just me and George. I tried to have a conversation with him but kept getting distracted by the constant buzzing coming from my phone. Eventually, George started to notice it too.
"Woah someone's popular," he joked.
"Yeah, it's actually that guy I told you about," I said, sighing slightly.
"Are you not gonna answer him?" he asked, probably confused at my sudden change of attitude towards him.
"I don't know something happened and I'm not sure how he feels about me," I said, almost holding back my tears at this point. As much as I tried to get him off my mind it didn't work. He was always there.
"Well I'm gonna be straight with you I have heard your phone go off about every five minutes for the past 3 hours he obviously cares about you. Whatever he did you should probably hear him out," he said softly. I sighed, realising he was right. Of course, he's right. I mean whether what she said was true or not, I should probably hear him out.
"Yeah maybe you're right," I said. Then Nick rejoined the call.
"Hey guys Karl needs me right now he's going through some shit so I have to go," he said "Y/n do you mind being on your own for a few hours?"
"No just go and be there for Karl," I said sympathetically. He thanked me before leaving the call. I could hear him get his shoes on before leaving, leaving me home alone.
"There you go, now you can invite him round to hear him out," George said.
"Are you kidding? Nick would kill me," I said hesitantly. George laughed.
"Well he's not gonna find out is he?" he said.
"I don't know," I said hesitantly. Although I wanted to see him and hear what he had to say, I couldn't help but worry that what she said was true. Was I really nothing to Tubbo? I couldn't bear the thought of being rejected to my face. But I also couldn't bear the thought of ignoring him for much longer. I mean it was true he did seem to be worried about me. I sighed in defeat after battling with my thoughts.
"Okay fine," I said finally. I heard George whoop before wishing me luck and leaving the discord call. I could feel my heart beat quicker and quicker as I picked up my phone.

I couldn't even read all of them there were so many. Although I was still sceptical, I couldn't help but feel and a small smile creep onto my face as I saw the number of texts he had sent me. After finally reaching the bottom, I started typing my response.
You I want to hear you out but I can't do it over the phone. Nick isn't home you can come over.
He immediately started typing

I decided to get changed into something more comfortable before he arrived and eventually settles on an oversized hoodie and leggings. I sat waiting anxiously for his arrival. As much as I didn't want to believe what she said I couldn't help but wonder whether he was coming over to let me down gently in person. When living with my parents, dating was prohibited so this was all new territory for me. And I was scared as fuck. Finally, I heard a knock at the door. I took some final deep breaths before heading to the door. I opened it and was shocked by what I saw.
I saw Tubbo, standing outside my door in the pitch black and pouring rain. His eyes were red and puffy as if he had been crying and he looked exhausted. He was looking down at the ground, guilt and embarrassment flashed in his eyes. My heart immediately shattered seeing him like this. He looked up at me with his sad brown eyes before engulfing me in the biggest hug I've ever received. I melted in his embrace. Although I had only known him for less than a week, I knew he was different. I rubbed his back calmly as he sobbed into my shoulder. I couldn't help but feel slightly guilty when I realised that I was the one who put him in that state. But he didn't seem to care anymore. We eventually broke apart and I lead him inside to the sofa. He sat down and looked at me with his sparkling brown eyes. I could swear I melted at the sight of them.
"Y/n I'm so so so sorry," he said, choking on his tears "I had no idea that she said those horrible things to you and if I did I promise I would have done something about it. I know that you probably hate me and never want to see me again but I just-"
"Woah Woah Woah, slow down." I said, cupping his face with my hands "I do not hate you okay? I never will even if I wanted to," I gave him a warm smile and he looked up at me.
"R- really?" he asked. I giggled.
"Really!" I said, wiping the tears from his face. As much as I wanted to leave it there my curiosity got the best of me.
"Hey, Tubbo?" I said, removing my hands from his face and placing them in my lap. He looked unimpressed at that but looked back up at me.
"D- do you like Maddie?" I asked, keeping my head down. He smiled and placed his fingers under my chin, forcing me to look at him. His touch sent chills down my spine
"Of course I don't. Especially after she hurt you I could never like someone who did that to you," he said smiling widely. Of course, I smiled back as his smile is super contagious. I grabbed his wrist of the hand that was holding my face and he held onto it. I could feel my face flush a shade of pink and his did too.
"Nick's not gonna be back for a few hours if you wanna stay and watch a movie?" I offered. Upon realising what I just said I couldn't help but be shocked at the huge wave of confidence that just washed over me. He smiled at me.
"Yeah sure that would be great," he said. I went and grabbed a blanket and some pillows before settling down with him on the sofa and deciding what to watch. He wanted to watch a horror film which I was nervous about because I hate horror films but I agreed anyway. It was about 5 minutes into the movie and I was already shaking in terror. Suddenly a jump scare happened and I buried my face in Tubbo's shoulder. He tensed at the sudden contact but didn't move. He soon relaxed though and slowly inched his arm around my shoulder. I buried my face in his hoodie and felt safe. He smelt like a mixture of pinewood and citrus, not like that cheap aftershave all the other boys wore. I relaxed as I listened to his calming heartbeat.
About an hour after the movie ended and I had honestly not been paying attention to any of it. Whether I was snuggling closer to Tubbo or playing ith his hoodie strings either way I didn't even realise when the movie ended. He looked down at me playing with his hoodie and smiled. I looked back but at him, our faces inches apart. I suddenly realised he close we were and started to blush. I looked down at his soft lips and back up to his dark brown eyes before he placed his hand on the side of my face. We both leaned in and our faces were practically centimetres apart when we were interrupted by his phone ringing. Our eyes opened and we looked at each other, blushing like crazy. I leaned back and he took out his phone.
"Hey mum what's up?" he asked, still smiling like an idiot. Of course, I was smiling too, looking down at the floor as he spoke. He let out a sigh and my heart sank realising he probably had to go.
"Alright I'll be there soon," he sighed before hanging up and putting his phone back in his pocket "Sorry, that was my mum I have to get home," I gave him a sad look.
"Do you have to?" I asked, slightly hopeful that he would be able to stay. He chuckled and stood up, grabbing his things. I got up and followed him to the front door.
"I'm sorry I wish I could stay," he said, placing his hand on my cheek. I melted into his touch. "You'll see me tomorrow,"
"That's ages away," I protested. He smiled at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"Goodbye y/nn," he said.
"Goodbye," I said before watching him get into his car and drive off. I closed the door and flopped onto the sofa.
He almost kissed me. HE almost kissed ME. I groaned and turned onto my back, grabbing my cheeks and feeling the heat radiating off of them.
But was this a friendly kiss or a romantic kiss?

Summary - Y/n gets into Nick's car and they drive off. When they get home, he offers to play Minecraft with her and his friends and she accepts. They play for a few hours and eventually Clay and Nick Leave the call. Y/n talks to George but he notices how much her phone is buzzing. He tried to convince her to hear him out. Nick rejoins and informs y/n that he was going to Karl's as he needed him. Once he left George told her to invite Tubbo round to explain himself. She does and when he arrives he had clearly been crying. The two embrace and he explains how he had no clue that Maddie said those things. They forgive each other and decide to watch a movie. They finish the movie and almost kiss but are interrupted by his phone. It was his mum telling him he has to go home. He leaves and y/n ponders whether that almost kiss had romantic intentions.
