Lore: Serving as a design inspiration for the much later Worcester-class cruiser. The Cleveland-class Light Cruiser was a compact and adaptable vessel. deploy in limited number in 1942 but seen use in the entire length of the First Siren Wars.
The Clevelands designed for the express purpose of a multi-role cruiser and surgically eliminated capital-grade warship at great speed. to this end, the ship carries torpedo tubes and a high-grade gun battery along with numerous medium and small guns spread across the ship frame. the ship was equipped with rapid target Anti-aircraft, mostly across its broadside.
Taken Full advantage of the armor to mount many cannons and hardpoints as possible on a single ship. the Cleveland sport an Aircraft carried mount as it only equips as much as 4. the ship ordinance can be changed variety as a pond mission-specific require or operation.
Commission and Launch of these vessels were in the dockyard from Newport News, at Virginia Shipyard, in Eagle Union.
The USS Cleveland first of the class was constructed at the secondary shipyard at Newport. and was rush to deployment with its sister. the Columbia, Montpelier, Denver, Santa Fe, Birmingham, and Mobile. to defend the shipyard from a Siren Attack. Due to the ship's light armor, the shipyard and warehouse were destroyed. but in an act of dramatic retaliation, The vessels close in the enemy while it was reloading. as it is the Vessel use the flaming wreck of it home to shield and went it came close at point-blank the ship fire a rapid volley of weapon, quickly reduces the enemy to similar wreckage.
This engagement will set the standard doctrine for the Union Navy. from then on all Future light cruisers will adapt to this rule, where its value was truly wasted went it deploys on a fully defensive plan.
Though not as famous as the Brooklyn-Class or Atlanta-Class. the Cleveland-class contribution in the wars was far from significant, provide the Union with a ship that was a reliable mean, and adaptable measure in the Navy. by engaging the most fearsome Siren Warship.
