She smiled "I'm her mother...I would like to see her is she inside?"
"um...hold on a second"I closed the door and went back into my bedroom.
Liah looked at me "hey...where's Bella?"
"um that's not Bella at the door baby"I rubbed the back of my neck glancing at her
"Theeen who is it?"she asked
"It's um...your mom"I said

"her and Toya are outside...I wasn't sure if you wanted to see them so I told them to wait outside"
"M-My mom is out there?"she asked

"okay" I nodded and walked back to the front door. I opened it and allowed them inside. "Thank you Jahseh"Deborah said
"she's in the room..follow me"I led them both to the bedroom.
As soon as Deborah laid eyes on Liah she immediately started smiling. "ooh my babygirl...hi"Deborah said to Liah

"I heard about the kidnapping and I got so worried about you"Deborah said
"so it had to take me being kidnapped, for you to finally show up in my life?"Liah asked
Deborah sighed softly "Liah...I was 26 when I had you..and I felt like I wasn't ready for a child...I KNEW I wasn't ready for one...so my mother told me she'd raise you and when she died Toya was next of kin so she took you in. Do I regret not raising you? Yes...because I know Toya probably was not a good example or a good aunt"
"Toya may have been a shitty aunt but at least she didn't give me up..for her own selfish reasons"

"yeah, well look at me...I'm about to be 19 years old and I'm 7 months pregnant..."Liah glared at her immensely
"so you never thought that you were too young? you never thought about adoption or abortion?"Deborah asked
As soon as she said that I started to think back in the night Liah found out she was pregnant, she didn't wanna keep the baby at all...and a part of me thinks she wouldn't have if it weren't for me.
"Thinking about something versus actually doing it...are two different things"Liah said
"Look Liah, I know you hate me for giving you up, I wish things were different but it isn't...but do you think you can forgive me?"she asked

Deborah looked at her before sighing "Lonnie, Lonnie Lynn...sounds like a female name right?"she chuckled
"Lonnie is somebody I would like to leave in my past, although now that I'm looking at you...all I see is his eyes"Deborah said
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, you know Toya told me about this Kentrell guy and everything he did to you...and I honestly wanted to cry because it reminded me of Lonnie's and I relationship...he was also abusive and controlling...I couldn't do so much as look at other man without him hitting me for it..and when I told him I was pregnant with you he..he told me he wanted nothing to do with you and left..he left me when I was 4 months pregnant..I wasn't mentally, physically, or emotionally ready for you Liah.."
"But now you are?"Liah asked
"Yes, I'm ready for you and this beautiful grandbaby of mine"she smiled looking at Liah's stomach
Liah looked at Toya with a slight glare "and why are you here?"
"For your forgiveness as well"Toya said
Liah shook her head "I need some time to think about it...both of you need to give me some time to think"
Deborah nodded "That's okay, I'm totally fine with that...take all the time you need"she then looked at me "It was nice to meet you Jahseh, thank you so much for making my daughter happy"
I cleared my throat "It was nice to meet you too"
Deborah and Toya turned around and made their way out of the apartment. I looked at Liah and saw that she had tears brimming her eyes. "Li...I could've told them to go away if I knew they was gonna make you cry"
"I'm fine"she wiped her tears and smiled at me lightly
"Imma go lock the door"I walked out the room. I saw that Toya was just about to go out the front door
"I got it" I said
She turned around and looked at me with pure sympathy. "Jahseh, I owe you an apology as well...for the things I did and said to you"
"you good Toya just...just know if you do something to hurt Liah again, you're out of her life and our daughters"I said
Toya nodded and walked out without saying another word. I closed the door and locked it.
Bella pov
"I'll be back mom"I grabbed my purse from off the couch
"Where the hell are you going now?"she asked
"I'm going to visit a friend"
"you know I find it so funny how I've never met none of your friends...are you ashamed of me?"she questioned
"Mom please don't start"I sighed
"I'm just asking"she shrugged
"I'll be back later on" I rolled my eyes and grabbed the knob

I was on the phone with Coolie the whole ride to Liah's place.

I got out the car and walked to their apartment door. The door immediately opened, Jahseh was there.
"I saw you pull up...Liah's a little agitated just to let you know"He said, I walked in and looked at him

"I'm sure she might explain it to you"he said
"okay" I walked to the back of the apartment where their room was. When I walked in the room I saw that Liah was getting out of the bed.
"Hey Liah baby"I said
she looked at me a smile "hey bells"
I walked over to her and gave her the tightest hug. "How are you? Jahseh told me you were a little upset"
"I'm fine, it's just...my mom just stopped by"
"your mom? I thought you didn't know her"
"I don't, she got in contact with Toya to find me...basically saying when I got kidnapped it made her realize that's she's finally ready to be apart of my life"
"wow, do you want her to be in your life? are you ready for that?"
"don't know, I'm not sure"she shrugged
"what else did she say?"
"I asked her about my dad and she told me his name...and that he is similar to Kentrell and that my father use to abuse and control her"
"How does she know about Kentrell?"
"Toya told her... I just don't know how to feel about this...it feels weird"she said

"That could've went better"I suddenly spoke breaking the awkward silence.
Toya shook her head and took a right turn on the road. "Deborah be honest with me now...why all of a sudden you wanna be in her life?"
"I told you, the kidnapping really made me realize that I should've done better as a mother"
"yeah but I know you Debby, so stop playing these games and tell me"
"I just want to be apart of my daughter's life Toya, If something would've happened to Liah while she was taken I would've never forgiven myself" I sighed looking out the window
"Something could've been happen to her, she grew up on the south side of chicago...she dated a well known fucking drug dealer! please come up with a better excuse Debby"
"That is the reason, why would I lie about this?"I asked
"you know what? fine, I believe you"She nodded

Liah pov
I woke up feeling tiny wet kisses all over my face. I opened my eyes seeing Jahseh staring at me.
"Happy Birthday Li"He said, his voice was very raspy
"Thank you Jah...what time is?"
"Mmm...around 4:30..can you get up for me though?"he mumbled
"Why'd you wake me up so early?" I said
"Come on baby, get up"he groaned before rolling out of the bed

I pressed 1 and looked up at Jahseh, his jaw was clenched, his nose was flared and his eyebrows were scrunched together.
"Liah? Liah you there?"I heard Kentrell's voice
"Why are you calling me Kentrell?" I asked

A few seconds later I heard Liah say "Kentrell, is it true?"
