The front door of a cottage opened, revealing a 20 year old young man with long, brown hair, tied back in a low ponytail, captive hazel eyes, pink lips and a muscular figure. This was Beale, a handsome man blessed with intelligence. (I didn't go with the real age from the movie, I hope you all don't mind. And I also sorry for the odd name. 😅)
With a book in his hand, he inhaled, breathing in fresh morning air. He walked down the stairs, singing,
"Little town, it's a quiet village
Every day like the one before
Little town full of little people
Waking up to say..."
He looked at the church clock.
On cue, the clock struck 8 and a woman opened a window, nodded to a woman shaking out a rug nearby and another woman opened her window as well, greeting,
"Bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour."
A butcher opened his shop, waved to a cobbler moving past with his cart while the other villagers walked out of their homes, greeting,
"Bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour. Bonjour. "
An old drunk homeless man noticed Beale, smiling. He was tossed inside a holding tank by two officers after he greeted,
"Bonjour."
Beale silently walked between the villagers, making himself invisible. He saw a baker walking with a tray of bread,
"There goes the baker with his tray like always
The same old bread and rolls to sell"
He took bread and placed the money on the tray while the baker looked at him offended by his words.
Beale walked towards a horse and patted its head,
"Every morning just the same
Since the morning that we came
To this poor provincial town"
Jean, the potter greeted him, "Good morning, Beale."
"Good morning, Monsieur Jean." Beale greeted back, approaching the old man. When he noticed the potter was searching something in his cart, he asked, "Have you lost something again? "
Jean nodded, sighing, "I believe I have. Problem is, I can't remember what. Well, I'm sure it will come to me."
Beale chuckled as he offered a fruit to a horse then started to walk away.
Jean called out, "Where are you off to?"
"To return this book to Pere Robert. It's about two lovers in fair Verona." Beale informed, smiling, remembering the romantic story he read.
Jean rolled his eyes, "Sounds boring."

Other side of the village, A window opened. A girl with messy h/c hair yawned, looking out of the window. Her room was filled with papers, graphite, colors and lots of paintings. This was Y/n.
She placed her face on her palm looking out of the window, lazily.
"Little town, it's a quiet village
Every day like the one before
Little town has little me
Waking up at..."
She looked at the clock on the church and her eyes widened,
"Eight thirty"
She woke up late.... again. She instantly started to get ready for her day. She picked up a book from her work table and walked out of her house.
She passed school boys as they marched into the school house. Their heads turned in her direction,
"Look there she goes
That girl is strange, no question "
The headmaster ushered them in impatiently and looked at Y/n,
"Dazed and distracted, can't you tell? "
Y/n jumped from on stone to another to pass the duck pond. Then she walked through a Launderette where young girls were forced into 'woman's work' chores, washing clothes. They were surrounded by women kneading clothes on barrels. Those women saw the e/c eyed girl and sang,
"Never part of any crowd
'Cause her head's up on some cloud"
She walked on a table where few little girls were washing clothes,
"No denying she's a funny girl
That Y/n"

A farmer approached a pretty fishmonger's wife. He placed his egg past in front of her and winked at her,
"Bonjour, good day, how is your family?"
Pretty fishmonger's wife gave him a fake smile,
"Bonjour, good day, how is your wife?"
On cue, her husband popped up next to her, glaring at the farmer.
The farmer immediately moved to another fishmonger to sell his egg,
The Fishmonger, Clothilde looked at the farmer informing,
"I need six eggs "
The Farmer pointed out the price as Beale moved past them.
The lady fishmonger scowled,
"That's too expensive"
"There must be more than this provincial life."
Beale sighed and walked towards the church.
Pere Robert who was cleaning a window, looked down as Beale entered the room.
"Well! If it isn't one of the two bookworm in town. So where did you run off to this week?" Pere Robert asked as he climbed down the ladder.
Beale smiled, "Two cities in Northern Italy. I didn't want to come back."
He placed the "Romeo and Juliet" on the shelves of the town's "library" which only consists of a few books. He looked at Pere Robert with hopeful eyes and asked, "Have you got any new places to go?"
The man in question shook his head, "I'm afraid not. But you may reread any of the old ones that you'd like."
Beale looked back to the self but he didn't found the book he was looking for, "where is-"
"Are you looking for this book?"
Beale felt his heart skip a beat when he heard the familiar silvery voice. He turned around and his hazel orbs met with e/c orbs. His breath hitched on his throat as he felt himself captivated by her, just like he felt every time whenever he saw her for last 5 years.
She wiggled her eyebrows, smirking , holding the book in front of his face.
He let out breathy chuckle, breaking out of his daydreaming , "Yes, I was." Before she could tease him, He snatched the book from her, making her pout, "Thank you."
"Ah the other bookworm. Let me guess you slept in." Pere Robert teased the young girl.
Y/n laughed, nodding, "Guilty."
"Do you want any book today?" he asked, motioning at the small collection of books.
"Oh yes." She picked up a new book, "Thank you, Pere Robert."
"Your library almost makes our small corner of the world feel big." Beale added, making the old man smile.
"Bon voyage."
"Bye"
Pere Robert watched as the two walked out of the church talking to each other.

Beale and y/n read the book as they walked down into the crowded market which was just being set up. Even though y/n read the book yesterday she can't help but read it again. And Beale was kind enough to share the book with her.
Beale and Y/n passed three muscular guys, Tom, Dick, and Stanley as three of them sang,
"Look there they goes
The two are so peculiar"
Then Y/n and Beale glided past an apothecary's open cart,
"I wonder if they are feeling well"
Beale and Y/n ducked under cheese sellers carrying their trays on their head, the seller turned look at two as they bought some Jam,
"With a dreamy far-off look
And their nose stuck in a book
What a puzzle to the rest of us
Is Beale and Y/n "
Now both of them walked through a bunch of florists selling huge bouquets.
Beale looked at y/n as he sang,
"Oh... isn't this amazing?
It's my favorite part because you'll see"
Y/n smiled dreamily and nodded,
"Here's where she meets Prince Charming
But she won't discover that it's him 'Til chapter three"
She finished, looking at Beale who was already staring at her longingly. They stood there for a few moments just gazing at each other.
Y/n blinked few times, shaking her head. She grabbed his hand and dragged him away from the flower stalls.

Three girls, all dressed in the same outfits with ridiculous makeup, were talking to their mother who ignored them when she noticed Beale and y/n walking through the crowd.
The mother headed outside of the shop, looked at Beale, while singing,
"Now it's no wonder that his name means "handsome"
His looks have got no parallel"
Then she looked at Y/n,
"And she is Beauty
she is grace
She is pretty as a rose
With the kindness she always shows.
They are perfect for each other."
The three crazy girls popped their heads from the windows of the dress shop, throwing flirtatious looks at Beale. But he didn't gave them slightest glance, only listening in awe to whatever y/n was babbling. The three sisters seethed with jealousy,
"But behind that fair facade
I'm afraid she's rather odd
She doesn't deserve a man like him.
She doesn't even remember who she is."
Their mother ignored them, she just smiled at the young pair who were lost in their own world,
"Very different from the rest of us"
The three crazy girls glared at their intertwined hands,
"They are nothing like the rest of us
Yes, different from the rest of us"
Beale and Y/n slipped through the crowd, not caring that everyone was staring at them.
"Is Beale and Y/n.

Someone on Quotev questioned, "I have a question if the reader isn't the beast and male belle falls for her how is Adam going to back to human If he doesn't fall in love with belle. I feel like it's going to defeat the whole purpose of the beauty and the beast story. Not that I'm saying that the story is going to be bad but..."
——> We all know Adam/Beast's curse will lift only if he falls in love. But why it have to be romantic love? It can be platonic love too right?
Take Elsa and Anna for example. Anna didn't thaw because of romantic love. she came back to life because of her and Elsa's unconditional love(platonic) for each other. So why not?
