Milo's pov
*I'm with y/n going to his big 10 hour surgery to hopefully save his life*
Y/n: I'm nervous
Milo: don't be, you'll be ok
*we got to the hospital and I hugged him and kissed his head before he went to the surgery room. Me and Ash didn't talk, didn't play on our phones, didn't do anything until y/n was out of surgery, when he got out the doctor said he was stable and we could see him but he wouldn't wake up for a few days. I waited those few days, they felt like a few years. Me and Ash took shifts of sleeping and going to work every day until I felt a squeeze on my hand, I looked up and saw y/n slowly open his eyes*
Y/n: too bright!
*I hurried to get the lights off and Ash got the nurses, soon all the nurses came and checked to see if he was breathing, and his talking. When the nurses walked out I went and sat on y/n's bed along with Ash*
Y/n: how long have I been out?
Ash: 5 days
Y/n: oh
*when y/n spoke he sounded drunk like his words were slurred because he was trying to touch his tongue to his teeth as he talked*
Ash: Do you want water?
*Y/n nodded yes and started to fidget with his fingers as Ash went to get him a water from the cafeteria*
Y/n: do you know when I'll be out?
Milo: no baby I don't
Y/n: probably not for a while
Milo: yeah, I missed you
Y/n: I missed you too, but I had the craziest dream
Milo: about what?
Y/n: ok so I was in this room and so many people were there looking at a casket and I went up there and it was me! I tried yelling and touching people but nobody reacted, so I simply went out of the funeral home and went to the Grand Canyon like I've wanted to for years now.
Milo: that's morbid don't you think?
Y/n: eh not really
Milo: whatever you say
*Y/n quickly reached over and playfully punched my arm, which didn't hurt because of how weak he is because of the chemo and stuff*
Milo: wow great job
*he laughed then Ash got back with the water*
Y/n: thanks
Ash: no problem, the doctors also said you'd stay here for a few days after you woke up so I guess you'll be here for a little while.
Y/n: ok
Ash: I have to go to work
Y/n: ok, bye
Ash: bye
*Ash walked out and me and y/n were left alone*
Milo: you ok?
*y/n was looking down at his blankets, just staring blankly. He gave me no answer so I decided to lift his head up, I saw a tear run down his cheek*
Milo: baby, what's wrong?
Y/n: m-my head h-hurts
Milo: do you want me to ask the nurse for something to help?
*he nodded yes so I called the nurses station and asked for some pain meds and they gave him some. After about 30 minutes y/n stopped crying*
Milo: does it feel better?
Y/n: a little
*I put my arm around him and he leaned against me, I felt all his muscles relax at my touch*
Milo: I love you
Y/n: I love you too, will you sing to me?
*I started singing to him and he fell asleep a while later so I went to sleep too, when I woke up y/n was awake doing something on his phone*
Milo: what are you doing up so early?
Y/n: I didn't know it was early
Milo: check the time
Y/n: oh it's 5?
Milo: yeah, c'mon give me goodmorning kisses please
*y/n put his phone down and leaned on my chest and gave me kisses all over my face. I said that as a joke because usually I'm up before him*
Milo: how long have you been up baby?
Y/n: I don't know, just couldn't sleep
Milo: any particular reason?
Y/n: nope
Milo: ok
*the doctor walked in*
Doctor: so y/n, we have some good news
Y/n: ok
Doctor: the surgery was successful, the cancer is slowly losing its fight, but you'll have to do a lot more treatments and start taking chemo pills at home.
Y/n: ok, and whenever or if I ever want to stop treatments I can right?
Doctor: yes, that is an option.
Y/n: ok so if it gets to be too much for me, I'll just stop
Doctor: ok, also you can go home today after a few tests
Y/n: ok
*the doctor walked out and I hugged y/n*
Milo: I love you
Y/n: I love you too
Milo: I'm tired still
Y/n: you can't go to sleep yet
Milo: ok I won't
*y/n leaned into my chest and took in a big breath, they ran the tests and then we went to y/n's house*
Y/n: I'm so happy to be home
Milo: I'm happy you're home too
*Y/n hugged donut (his favorite stuffed animal)*
Milo: I love you
*I laid next to him, on his bed*
Y/n: I love you too
*his alarm went off for his new meds that we picked up on the way here. I got them out of my backpack and handed him them with my water*
Y/n: thanks
*he took his meds then laid back down*
Milo: wanna watch something?
Y/n: can we go jump on the trampoline?
Milo: you shouldn't be doing much activity right now, the doctor said to rest for a few days
Y/n: *sighs* why do you always have to listen to doctors?
Milo: because, that's what you should do
Y/n: but technically, you're not the boss of me
Milo: that's true but-
*I was cut off by y/n standing up and running down the stairs*
Milo: babe!
Y/n: let's play tag! You're it!
*he ran out the front door, as Ash was trying to walk in. Ash grabbed y/n's shirt to stop him from falling but it jerked his head in an awkward position*
Y/n: Ow! Fuck!
Ash: no more running
Y/n: Fuck off
*he stood up completely and held his head in pain*
Ash: oh fuck!
Milo: what?!
*I ran over and looked at y/n's head, the patch that was on his head to cover the stitches came off, luckily we were supposed to change it soon anyways*
Y/n: I-I'm ok
Milo: did he hit his head on you or anything?
Ash: no that's his normal stutter
Milo: I know but we still need to know
Ash: oh, no he didn't
Y/n: just both of you shut up for a second, you're being too loud
Ash: the doctor said this is a normal symptom, especially if he's being active and running around
*y/n leaned on the wall and slid down it, me and Ash immediately kneeled down to him*
Ash: are you ok?
Y/n: I'm fine, stop yelling please, god damn.
*I picked y/n up and carried him to his room, I put another patch on his head and helped him take his leg off before he stopped me*
Y/n: I'm sorry for yelling at you, and making you worry
Milo: baby it's ok, you're in pain, I understand.
