As time passed one by one my friends were departing for Ganos. My friend Giovanni, one of those I made friends with due to his liking to study, died on the day I reached 63 years of age. His wife Fabiola would be the last to carry his surname, Edarini, as their three children had married into other families.
My mother liked the family, had even known well Giovanni's father. It was a little sad to know that the family would disappear, even if we didn't have any standing contract between our Households.
Loss was something very present in my past years, some would say it has been very present my whole life. And still, I am grateful for all that was mine, all the people who came before me and those who will come after.
