Not me researching restaurants in San Diego because I'm not from America and I've never been there before

🎶 I don't really like the zone
Never spend the night alone
I got a few, you would like to bone 🎶

Chapter Four

After the car ride with Layla Grace, Severin and Serayah had arrived at their final destination once and for all.

As soon as Layla Grace was done visiting her pregnant best friend, who had given birth kind of really young (22)?

Then she was going to come back to this restaurant to pick them up, whether both of them had finished their foods or not.

"Y'all understand that?"

They nodded, with both of them thanking her for dropping them here.

That was the name of the restaurant, with Severin going inside.

Serayah on the other hand was about to go inside but didn't because that was when Layla Grace had called her back unexpectedly.

"Oh and Serayah?"

She had stared at her blankly as she was at the front of the car.

"Mess with my bro and imma hurt you in ways you don't know."

She nodded.

"But what if Severin hurts me? Then what?"

Then Layla was going to tell him mess with my sis and your life won't be bliss.

Although at the same time, she couldn't really have hurt her brother like that even if she wanted to.

After that, Layla Grace had left because she had gotten a text from another one of her friends that were going to the hospital for the pregnancy.

Serayah had gone to Severin, where both of them were wearing disguises as if they had just come back from a funeral.

"I don't get why we have to wear these disguises," she whisper complained.

"Remember the last time we went out, unintentionally not wearing disguises?"

Yeah, she did.

Two weeks ago.

Almost everybody that had seen them had come up to them, bombarding then with questions and autographs.

Oh my gosh, it's Severin and Serayah!

You two are couple goals!

I can't believe it's really you.

And then some... instant monstrosity.

They were not going through that again.

Sometimes they would have completely forgotten to wear disguises, which had really cost them in the long run.

Either way, Severin had hated the attention, and so did Serayah too now that she had thought about it.

"That's why we're keeping a low profile."

Serayah understood.

After the queue, that was when they had been assigned a seat, aka coincidentally in the middle of the entire room.

[Not what the real restaurant looks like!]

And sadly for them, there was no other seat.

The restaurant was filled up.

As quickly as they could, so that no one would have been able to recognise them even behind sunglasses, they had dashed into the middle table.

Slouching in their seat.

Covering themselves with the semi-illegible menu.

Some people that had seen them were confused as to why they were hiding themselves away from everyone else.

"Look," Severin had told Serayah when the amount of people that had been whispering about them was concerning him.

He wasn't one to care much about what people had thought although even Severin himself had to admit that hiding himself from the crowd was kind of ridiculous right now.

He had then sat up straight, removing his face from the menu, Serayah doing the same thing afterwards, once she had realised that Severin wanted to talk to her.

"I know we've been fighting quite a lot but we've got to act like we didn't," he had told her. "I bet many couples, families and friends here have been fighting too. But they're hiding it. So we should too."

Because she couldn't really have said no, Serayah had then nodded....

That was until some light skinned staff member with beautiful dreadlocks, dimples and brown eyes had come to their table, tapping them.

By his name tag, his name was André and he wasn't very happy.

"Uhm... excuse me?"

They had looked at him blankly.

"Sorry to intrude but," a dramatic pause, then. "No sunglasses allowed. Inside anyway."

Good.

They were worried that he had realised that they were Severin and Serayah.

This was exactly what they were trying to avoid, hence why they couldn't have removed their sunglasses.

"We can't."

"And why's that?" André crossed his arms, looking at Serayah blankly.

She didn't really know whether it was in her best interest to lie to him or not.

Sighing, she had then told André the truth.

They were a famous couple that hated publicity.

André didn't believe them one second.

"Pfft. Yeah right. And I was born yesterday," he deadpanned, his arms still crossed. "Take off your sunglasses right now, otherwise we'd kick you out."

Severin and Serayah couldn't really have gone home without Layla Grace's help.

Neither of them could drive, and the bus stop was too far away.

Train?

Nah, a bus was faster. Plus the nearest train station was even further than the nearest bus stop.

They weren't leaving here without eating, so therefore both of them had very grudgingly and slowly removed their sunglasses.

André had watched them.

Then he gasped.

"No way! Y'all are Severin and Serayah on Instagram! You guys really are famous. I thought y'all were just lying to keep your sunglasses on or something. Couple goals!"

In his wildest dreams.

Even worse, as André had said that, a lot of people had heard him, crowding round to ask them a lot of questions.

Coming here was a terrible idea.

They should have just ordered takeaway.

Oh my gosh it's Severin and Serayah!

You guys are so cute together!

How'd y'all realise that you two were perfect for each other?

They facepalmed themselves.

This was exactly why some couples didn't have Instagram or social media in general.

Or if they did... then they most definitely didn't flaunt about how "flawless" their relationship was online.

Real relationships weren't perfect and perfect ones weren't real.

When the two of them had gotten beyond fed up of people asking them countless questions, Severin had thought that it would have been a good idea to silence them, in a nice way.

"Look, y'all. We really appreciate the love right now but please... just leave us alone. No offence."

"You can have all your food for free!" One of the chefs suggested, hoping to make them feel better.

That sounded tempting.

It really did... but no.

"No. Don't give us free food. We're just normal human beings. We're really not that special," Serayah confessed.

But you guys are celebrities!

Couple goals!

"Shut up." Severin had said unconsciously, because he was so overwhelmed.

They had all gasped at him, that was until he had realised what he had said and sighed.

"I mean, just leave. Please. No autographs. Nothing. Okay?"

They nodded.

"Thank you."

That wasn't the only problem that they had encountered though, the second problem was actually paying for everything.

They had to pay for their food after they had finished, in case they wanted more.

Both of them had ended up spending twenty minutes eating at the restaurant, with Severin kind of lying about how much money he had.

Unintentionally.

So therefore when they wanted to leave and when he had to pay the bill for their food?

Hahaha.

Everything was a total of $217, with André from before telling them this.

"That's a lot of money, baby."

"Don't worry, Serayah. I've got us covered."

Then he whispered that he didn't do these extra shifts for nothing as quietly as possible because he really didn't want anyone knowing about their private life.

He had then gotten his card out.

Inserted his pin.

Smiled.

André had stared at it to see if it would have gone through.

"Uhm... Severin?"

He looked at him blankly, along with Serayah.

"I'm really sorry to say this but your card declined."
