He stood on the edge.
Tears flowing down his cheeks as the cold wind blew at his face.
He gripped the railing staring down at the icy water below him.
A sob coming out of him as the moon tauntingly shone down on him.
This was it. He could finally be free.
No more darkness. No more nightmares. No more unhappiness from every day life. From every day everything.
He could set his soul out to the next part of the cycle.
But he was scared. A part of him still screamed to live.
He shook in both fear, exhaustion, and the cold.
He just wanted this pain to stop.
Please. Please just make it stop.
But the poor man had no idea that a creature watched him in fascination.
The creature watched as he sobbed. Watched as the man thought his last thought.
Watched and felt the pleasure at the pain that was thrown before it.
And as the man finally let go, falling into the dark empty night to the freezing waters, the creature dove with him.
For it had made a decision.
You see the creature wanted this man. It wanted this mans fear and sadness.
It had been so lonely after all. So lonely for so long.
But the strangest part was that this creature was once just like this man.
A dark reminder left in the past.
