Sorry I didn't post this sooner, I usually post my chapters at midnight but I somehow fell asleep before then??? Anyway I hope you like it :p
They went to knock the door but principal nezu opens it before his skin touched the wood.
"Ah, hello there shinso. Your performance in the entrance exam was quite noticeable. You are here to discuss your friend yes?" The large rodent said.
"Uh... yeah... my friend is really injured and didn't have a chance to take the exam, he wants to be a hero but he says he gave up on that dream. Something happened that really crushed his confidence and I really need to repay him for everything he's done for me. In training he was better and quicker than me even in his weak state, please principal nezu. Please allow him to get into the hero course."
"Ah yes, Midoriya. He is an amazing kid. I have seen you both freestyle running across the buildings. He is indeed quick and he has already proved himself a hero."
"Wha- how?!"
"Why do you think you haven't gotten in trouble? I know everything that goes on here as well as almost everything about potential students, I am the principal after all. Midoriya proved himself two months ago in the "sludge incident", or whatever the press called it. He ran in after his friend with a plan and was able to save him so the hero's could detain the villain. The press focused on the victim as no one wants to hear of the quirkless boy who saved his strong quirked classmate. A shame really, it really could have caused some chaos if the story got out but unfortunately no one but the hero's knew he was quirkless."
Aizawa stood there silent, he was planning on saying something but the shock of finding out Midoriya was quirkless made him forget what he was going to say. There was a long silence and principal nezu decided it would be best if he broke it
"I will think about it. He will have an apprenticeship under me and he has until the new term starts up to prove himself. If he proves himself worthy he will become a fifth student who got in based on recommendations. Neither of you must tell him what he is working towards as he will probably try not to get in. We will use the excuse of him covering a medical bill."
There was a pause of disbelief. Aizawa still in shock from finding out he was quirkless and shinso in shock of being given the chance to repay his friend.
"Shinso, I need to talk to aizawa in private if you will please leave. Go to the nurses office and wait for aizawa. When your there please do not tell him about any of this."
Shinso quickly left and walked as fast as he could to his friend, still not sure he's ok after discovering the extent of his friends pain.
"Aizawa, izuku Midoriya is deku, correct?"
"Yes sir, I believe so. His notebook was filled with information on the villains we have requested as well as others that other underground hero's most probably requested as well."
"You are worried for him. I understand that. You will escort him home. His address is registered with the school but we have no idea what his living conditions are. You will help him up his stairs and change his bandages in his apartment. Do not mention this on the way as he will try to avoid it if his living conditions are as we expect."
"Thank you nezu."
"If he gets in you cannot play favourites aizawa, you must treat him like every other student. I already suspect you will as you haven't told him that you know he's deku yet but I just want to remind you."
"Your way too smart for your own good nezu. And you don't need to tell me twice."
With that aizawa left to go to the back to the nurse office.
" Midoriya, I have been asked to escort you home. The school needs to make sure you get back safe."
Most of the walk aizawa was always 4 steps behind to give them their space while their on the same route. He took this as an opportunity to try and see how he interacts with his friend. It was a drastic change compared to how he was around the teachers and other students. He seemed more comfortable, although he still clearly has a lot on his mind it seems less of a hindrance with shinso there. He will have to tell nezu this.
Once they got to Midoriyas apartment he had to help him up the stairs as he was clearly struggling, he didn't accept the help at first but aizawa insisted. When they approached his apartment door izuku was trying to get rid of him. He used the bandage excuse but he insisted he was okay. Aizawa told him that if he didn't recovery girl threatened to hit him in the back of his head with her walking stick.
Izuku eventually let him in, not willingly though. Aizawa found an empty living room with a carpet, full of bloodstains. Probably from more beatings like the one he had today. His kitchen was bare with an almost empty fridge as well as 1 plate, 1 fork and 1 knife. His living conditions were awful.
"Midoriya, do you live alone?"
"Yeah" he whispered but just loud enough for aizawa to hear.
"Where are your parents?"
"I don't know" Midoriya said, which technically wasn't a lie. He had no idea where his mom was buried as his dad never told him and he had no idea where his dad was, not that he cared though.
Aizawa could see him shaking, he wasn't sure why though. The boy completely distrusted him which was really hurtful and strange but seeing the way he had been beaten up earlier it was clear to see that not a lot of authority figures cared about him, it's almost as if they endorsed it.
Putting the bandages on wasn't difficult but that was the problem. This kid had a worryingly high pain tolerance. Aizawa really needed to tell the group, this made him so mad. While he was distracted with doing the bandage and thinking, Midoriya was also thinking of what to say.
If I tell him I'm deku he might hate me for not telling him. He might hate me for being quirkless and weak. But I hate lying, if I don't tell him now then am I ever? I want to tell everyone in the chat but I don't want to lose them. But if I continue lying they might hate me for that because they will eventually find out somehow and then they will hate me for that too and they have more chance of leaving me.
"I'm deku." Midoriya said, his voice wobbly
"Hm?"
"I'm deku. They guy you've been working with for the past two months." He mumbled "and the one who ghosted you for the past week.." that last part was quieter than the first.
"I know kid. Thanks for telling me though." Aizawa wasn't bothered to act surprised and decided to tell him the truth.
"I- You... how..." deku was fumbling all over himself
"We have to search your bags as standard procedure, and how nervous you were around me. Then you also knew who I was when you told me not to touch your arm."
"I..." deku shrunk in on himself "I'm sorry, you probably hate me..."
"No, your just not the best a lying" he laughed
"But... I'm quirkless, don't you hate me?..."
"Why would you being quirkless effect my opinion on you? In fact that makes your skills even more impressive. We thought we were looking for someone with a IQ enhancing quirk or a quirk that analyses other quirks. And the gadgets you made were amazing. Why are you so scared we would hate you?..." his voice was somewhat softer and it had a concerned edge to it.
"It's nothing..." he mumbled.
"Why don't you see the others? We could meet up for dinner with the rest and you could tell them who you are. They wouldn't hate you."
"But aren't they busy?"
"No, they all have the night off for the bust tomorrow."
"Okay then..." he reluctantly agreed, glad he had the chance to get this off his chest finally.
"You go get ready and I'll organise the meet up"
With that he left to his room, finding his best clothes and going in the shower.
