Bad's POV

"Darryl!" I heard Harvey shutting the door. I got to my feet, walking closer to the main door.

I audibly gasped at the sight of Harvey and Tubbo standing right next to each other. Tubbo didn't meet my eyes, his focus on the ground. I looked back to Harvey who didn't seem disturbed by the fact a literal guard from the castle was in our house.

"Harvey, why is he here?" I asked, looking over Tubbo. He carried a bag, but I could also see a sword on his side. Armed and ready, for what? He obviously wasn't attacking us.

"No time, Tubbo come on." Harvey dragged Tubbo over to the couch by Skeppy. I followed watching them. Tubbo looked over Skeppy and felt his head a bit, wincing when he did.

"Burning up, it must've set in already." Tubbo said. He tossed his bag to the side and looked over his wound.

"What set in? What is going on here?" I asked anyone. Harvey sighed and turned to me.

"Tubbo says the arrow that his friend shot was laced with poison. When it hit Skeppy, it immediately entered his bloodstream. Even with us removing the arrow, the poison is in him." Harvey explained. I put my hand over my mouth, looking down to watch Tubbo again. He rested his head in his hand, his eyes looking over Skeppy.

"Any possible way you guys have some type of doctor nearby?" Tubbo stood up, looking up at me. I glanced at Harvey. He knew the area the best.

"Well, yea, we have one. But isn't that suspicious to bring him in?"

"Well it's either bring him to the doctor or let him die." We all stood in silence. Tubbo was right, even if it meant blowing our cover to the public, Skeppy needed help that we couldn't provide for him.

"I think Red's office is open still." All of jumped and turned to see Finn and Vurb standing in the doorway. Neither of them even questioned the fact Tubbo was here, they just seemed to think it was okay. People are way too trusting these days.

"Then let's go, move it people!" Harvey got us moving quickly. Finn and Vurb were to carry Skeppy again while me and Tubbo packed some food and clothes for the rest of us. We were out the door and on the way to Red's office within minutes.

Me and Tubbo fell behind everyone as they walked swiftly. I glanced at Tubbo. When I had left the castle months ago, Tubbo had been this chatty, kind, sweet boy who was always trying to cheer everyone up. Now, he was a quiet, tired mess of a child.

"I know... I know it might be hard to understand, Darryl, but I know why you left now." I looked at Tubbo quizzically. "It's not fair. All these people live in fear of the kings. And after all I've seen... I just know that while I might be betraying a few people, that I'm doing the right thing." I smiled a little. Tubbo reminded me of Mega in a way. A little less opinionated, but he had the fire burning inside of him.

"I felt the same way when I went with Skeppy. It didn't feel right, but after finding out Finn's and Vurb's stories and seeing all these villages, it just made me realize that this wasn't a nice type of monarchy. It's a dictatorship." I shook my head, looking to my right. There was the castle, all high and mighty on the tallest hill.

"So that is Skeppy, right?" Tubbo asked.

"Yeah, that's him. Harvey was the guy you met, Finn is the tall brown haired guy, and Vurb is the shorter one." I pointed each one out. Tubbo nodded, seeming to take notes of each guy's appearance.

"Ok, got it. They were the ones who attacked the nurses and guards in the medical corridor." I nodded. "I'm... sorry about Mega. Even though I was just watching, I know it was hard."

I flinched a little, my pace quickening. Tubbo kept up with me, not seeming to notice my change in pace. "You were... there?"

"Yeah, Tommy was the one who... you know. I really thought Skeppy and Mega were going to get out of there, Skeppy even brought Techno to his knees when Techno almost knocked Mega down." That caught my attention.

"Brought him to his knees?"

"Yeah it was really cool to watch. Skeppy even got injured beforehand after Ranboo threw a chair at him or something, but he got right back up to try and help." Tubbo smiled, shaking his head a little.

"I had no idea. I really treated him horribly after..." I mumbled out the last part. Tubbo didn't seem to hear me, he was busy kicking a stone in our path. I glanced at him. He was just a kid, this wasn't stuff he should have to deal with.

Then again, all of us were kind of kids. I was the oldest, by three years. Vurb and Finn are both 18, Harvey and Skeppy are 19, and Tubbo is 16. Still, none of us were probably prepared to do this ever, no matter our age. Fun stories to tell our kids, I guess.

I looked ahead, the path we were walking on brightening. It was pitch black now, the moon being our only light in the sky, along with the stars. "Come on, let's catch up with them." I started to jog and Tubbo followed me. We walked right behind Harvey and the others now. Harvey was right in front, leading the way. He was about the only one who knew the way to Red's office.

I looked down at Skeppy. I could see his eyelids fluttering a little, but not enough to signal us that he was awake. I sighed, looking ahead again. Skeppy tried. Knocking Techno to his knees isn't an easy thing to do. Yet, I was constantly putting all the blame on Skeppy. What if he feels the same once he wakes up? What if he blames me for getting him shot and poisoned?'

"There it is! The lights are on, come on guys!" Harvey pointed to a small, grey building. It was covered in moss and the roof seemed slightly damaged. I don't know who this Red guy is, but he didn't seem too rich.

Harvey ran up the path, grabbing the door. He ushered us all through then closed the door behind us. As I looked around, I spotted a young male sitting at a desk, staring directly at us. Harvey got in front of us. "Red, long time no see, would love to do a big reunion, but we need your help." The words stumbled out of Harvey's mouth, but Red got up immediately. He waved us over and we followed him down a hallway.

"What's wrong with him?" Red asked as he opened a door to a small room. It had a long, padded table. He patted it, motioning for Vurb and Finn to put Skeppy down.

"Long story short, he got shot by an arrow laced with poison. We got him stitches because we didn't know it had poison, but Tubbo found us and told us it had a deadly poison. I didn't know what else to do but bring him to you." Red nodded as he pulled on his gloves. Tubbo, Finn, Vurb, and I stood in the far corner, awkwardly glancing at eachother.

Red turned around, gasping as he looked at Skeppy. "Zak? Dang, haven't seen him in years." Red glanced over to us, eyes widening at the sight of me and Tubbo. We lowered our heads. Townspeople normally didn't recognize me, but he definitely knew Tubbo. But instead of saying something, he shook his head and looked back to Ske-

Wait.

Did he call him Zak?

"Do you know what type of poison it was?" Red asked, turning back to Harvey. Harvey shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "Shit."

"Is there any way to find out?" I stepped forwards. Red eyed me, slowly nodding his head.

"I mean, yea, I could take a sample of his blood and inspect it to try and figure it out. But that'll take over 10 hours, if everything goes well." Red sighed, looking closer at the stitches we did.

"We have to try." Vurb said from behind me.

Red stood up, looking at Vurb. "In most cases, I'd agree with you. But looking at Zak's condition, I don't know if he will make it in time for me to figure out what type of poison it is and make a cure." I looked down at Sk- Za- Skeppy. Pale, sweating, unconscious. Not good things.

"How long do you think we have?" Harvey whispered. I looked at him, noticing his shaking shoulders and teary eyes, both of them staring at Skeppy.

"At best, 12 hours." Red closed his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath.

"Can't we try?" Vurb asked again. Red opened his eyes, his light brown eyes, and looked at all of us. Then he looked down at Skeppy. A small smile formed on his face.

"I've known this kid for over 14 years. He's always been a fighter." I could see Harvey look up, staring at Red hopefully. "I don't think he'll let some poison beat him, and I'm going to make sure he at least has a chance. Let's... do this."
