"Now Mr. Owen will now pick the first contestant to be joining the race! Ms. Y/n will follow shortly and the numbers are shown at the same time" the host said as me and owen were standing infront of a transparent box filled with red balls.
Owen got one followed by me. We both opened it. I looked to owen to see him smirking.
32? Please let this be someone with a handsome face!
"Please show us the lucky contestants" the host said as both me and owen showed our papers to the camera as everyone started screaming.
"NUMBER 55 AND 32 WILL BE COMPETING IN THE SPECIAL RACE!"
"The race will be ready in 10 minutes so number 55 and 32 please start preparing!!" The host said before we smiled as they shut of the camera so another camera from another area would take over the screen.
"You seem happy with your number" I said to owen as we started walking towards our bikes to start preparing.
"Of course, it's shelly's wannabe boyfriend" he said before laughing as I stopped walking making him look back at me. I knew something was up.
"Why didn't you tell me about this plan????" I said disappointed as he walked towards me, his hands in his pocket.
"It was an unexpected time to prepare this race so I didn't have time to tell you, but who do you want anyway? You seem to be desperate for me to set up your dream man or something" he said before laughing again as I stood there with a red face.
"Fine, I wanted you to set me up with that hot guy from monster? Or should I say monster himself. But since it's too late so it's fine" I said before laughing as we started walking through the crowd.
"For what? You wanna beat him or is it something else?" He said, the crowd was giving us a little space for us to walk comfortably.
"Or do you perhaps like hi-" Just before I had the chance to reply I immediately ran infront of him to cover his mouth.
He didn't say anything tho instead he was just smirking.
"You better not say that especially here when everything you say spreads like wildfire" I said before taking my hand off his face.
"Of course" he said before laughing.
He started walking making me turn around to crash into the wall. I fell back and landed on the floor.
I looked up to see monster...holy shit.
I looked to my right to see owen smiling like an idiot before he waved at me and continued walking.
His back was facing me and when he turned around I felt a whole windstorm come across my face. He gave his helmet to one of his teammates before giving me a hand.
I accepted it as he pulled me up.
"Ow" I ran my hand through my butt as I felt the grip on my hand lighten just enough not to crush my hand.
"Sorry" monster said making me look up.
"No I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going" I said smiling. He kinda noticed the awkard hand shake so he was the first one to let go.
"Goodluck" that was all he said before taking my hand again and shaking it.
"Thank you" I said smiling as I shook his hand.
I don't know how long it was but damn his large hand feels so warm and it makes my smaller hand almost disappear oh my gosh I feel like I'm gonna burn.
"Attention the race will be starting in 5 minutes all contestants please head to the starting line!" A staff with a speaker walked aroumd with a pre recorded audio repeating over and over.
"Oh no it's time for me to go first I need to get ready..." I said as I looked down clearly disappointed that it was time for me to go and this was probably gonna be the first and last interaction I had with monster.
"Sure.." he said as he just looked down on me until we slowly let go of our hands.
"It was nice meeting you though" I said.
"You too" he said.
"See ya later!" I said as I started walking away from him and to the direction owen was at. I looked back to see him wave at me. I gave him a small wave while smiling before turning back to legitimately walk this time.
"Get ready now" owen said as I reached him who was sitting on a bench, our bikes leaning behind it.
"Holy shit did you see that bro???" I said as I started shaking his shoulders.
"I know I know, I saw it too and how you two didn't want to let go and stuff blah blah blah" he said making me laugh.
"I'm gonna use that as motivation for this race" I said as I sat next to him and drank my energy drink.
"Pshh lame. just ask him out after this one!" He said messing up my hair as he stood up making me stand up too.
"But what if that was the last time I could see him again?" I said as we both grabbed our helmet.
"Trust me it works" he said as he grabbed his bike and started walking to the starting line.
I sighed before taking my bike too and started walking.
I stood on the starting line next to the railing where I could clearly hear all the screaming from the other cyclist and fans.
"Holy shit is that a 56teeth crank??!! That's freaking insane bro!!" I heard a guy say.
"56teethers are only good for the strong people, that's why were stuck on 52teethers" another guy said making me look their way to make them scream.
"Just train hard boys and one day you could use a 56 like me" I said before winking making them nod histerically with huge smiles on their faces, I don't even know if they understood a single word I just said.
Owen was on the other side talking to jay. I got on my bike before putting on my black time trial aerodynamic helmet. (If you are a little confused it's a helmet like yumi, it's a helmet that you can see on time trial races).
"Goodluck on the race" my eyes widened before I immediately looked behind me to see monster walking towards the line holding his aerodynamic helmet.
I smirked before laughing.
"What a coincidence! Goodluck to you too!" I said before taking off my leather Light Cavalry jacket as I gave it to the staff who as gonna keep it until the race was done.
He smirked before putting on his green helmet. He got on his bike and locked his cleats on before putting a hand on my shoulder so he could keep balance while I was holding the railings.
"Hey what do we say we make a bet" I said looking straight.
"Sure what is it" he said.
"If I win this one we're going out" I said, taking full advantage of my tinted helmet that he couldn't see my red face.
"Easy.." he said. The way he said it made weird things come up my spine. Damn it's giving me goosebumps.
"What about you?" I said now gathering the courage to look his way. Our helmets making it hard to see where our eyes were looking at.
"I'm fine with yours" he said. I was about to reply but the huge speaker cut me off.
"Alright the race you've all been waiting for is finally happening! The special race comsisting of Owen knight and Y/n L/n from Light Cavalry, from The Hummingbirds we have Jay Jo and lastly from the monster crew we have Monster himself!! This game will be the most intense one yet!! Gather around everyone and make sure not to take you eyes of this race!!"
"READY!!!!" We all looked front and waited for the starter to shoot.
BANG!!!
And with that we let go of everything we were holding and started pedalling.
Jay and owen was first to zoom off as me and monster had a slow starting pace.
"Never knew you were a hard gearer too" he said making me grin.
"Is it a coincidence or are we just born for each other?" I said with a smirk as I gained speed. The crank was getting a little smoother so I decided to sprint was the best idea since the route was short.
All he did was laugh before speeding up too. We basically catched up to the other two and boy it wasn't a nice sight. I was expecting a more speed type of race but boy they're almost like pushing each other off their bikes, it's more like owen was doing most of it but still.
We passed them gaining even more speed.
We ended up having an all out 1v1 sprint out and none of us wanted lose.
The finish line was just a few meters ahead and I saw monster giving his final sprint making me sprint with all my strength too.
"RAAAAAA!!!!" I screamed feeling all the muscles start ripping out of my skin and my nerves almost popping.
I was able to come in second place, trust me it was just a few centimeters like yumi vs. jay thing. Jay and
I panted as I got my cleats off and took of my helmet after feeling like I couldn't breathe.
Ah shit I lost. Now I feel like shit. CHANCES GO BRRRRR!!!
Monster was just drinking his water a few feet ahead of where I was standing. I looked around for a exit but the only way was to pass monster holy crap I feel miserable.
"I'm embarrassed" I whispered as I passed monster. I didn't seem to notice that he was secretly building up his courage.
"Here's your jacket ma'am" my bodyguard said as he held the jacket and a bottle of gatorade on the other.
"Oh thanks" I said as I grabbed me jacket. I drapped it over my shoulders and drank the gatorade.
"Hey.." My ears perked up as I slowly looked behind me.
"See you later at 7 same place, you decide where" he said making me drop the bottle.
A huge smile was plastered.
"Really????" I said hoping what I heard was surely real.
"I won't say it again" he said. I jumped letting go of my bike as my bodyguard immediately caught it.
"Oh sorry" I said to him as he just nodded. I looked back at monster with a full on smile before running to him.
"Sooo where are we going later~~" I said as he sighed, releasing a genuine smile after.

Welp HAHAHA took me long enough to make a new one. Our exams are coming so I have been studying like crap so sorry for the slow update.
