10:26 AM

dave had narnia's things he paid for, flown out yesterday, they have now arrived in chicago.

dave's worker dialed him up, and told him everything was in place.
dave told him the plan, and when to execute it.

meanwhile, narnia was busting her back at work. victoria secrets had a huge sale today, and the place was overflowing with customers.

"hurry, i have a flight to catch." one of the customers rushed narnia.

"all due respect," narnia started off, as she quickly rang and bagged the customer's items in front of her. "you see there's a full house. be patient, respectfully."

the customer scoffed, waltzing to the other longer line. narnia huffed, getting fed up with these stuck up people.

-

"aye, boss." durango, one of dave's workers, called out to him as he was walking in his office.

he looked up from his paperwork for a second. "wassup?"

"i found something on narnia."

dave's attention span immediately averted to the papers in durango's hand.
he moved his paperwork towards the side. "what do you have?"

"narnia's father; trayvontae willis rules is was convicted off aggravated battery, his bail has currently been pushed up to 215,000, and his sentence is four years long."

"he claimed he was innocent; protecting his daughter, narnia, from his half brother's attempted rape allegation."

hearing this, made dave's blood boil.

"they let the guy go?" he asked, with low eyes.
"yes."

"alright, anything else?"

durango shifted uncomfortably, looking off to the side.
dave noticed, and with a concerning look growing on his face - he asked, "what's the problem?"

"tiffany jackson jane; narnia's mother, and. . . a crack/ heroine addict."

dave's eyes flew up, burning with fury - his teeth clenched, and fist balled.
"what?"

-

7:59 PM

after a long day at work, narnia sluggishly walked into the house with her burber king meal.
she reeked off perfume, and lotion from her job. better than smelling like burgers.

knowing her mom would bug about money, she placed her cut on the table - before wobbling off to her room.

she groaned, plopping on her small bed. she deeply sighed, as she pulled out a 'whooper' from the brown bag.
as she took the first bite, her phone began ringing.

she pulled it from her back pocket, and watched as dave's number appear on her phone.
she missed him, honestly. but, she wouldn't allow herself to think about him.
nonetheless, she answered.

hello?

she answered tiredly.

hey, you still mad at me?

there was something different in dave's tone, narnia noticed. almost like he was holding back something.

umm. . i don't know.

it was a prank. i wanted you to be mad.

that's stupid, why?

look at your backyard babygirl.

narnia furrowed her eyebrows, as she took another bite of her burger, standing up and walking out her room and towards the way, leading to the backyard.

she reached the door, placing her hand on the doorknob, hesitating.

i'm scareddd.

girl, if you don't open the door.

narnia sighed, biting her lip - as she twisted the door knob, getting ready to open it.

"what are you doing?!" tiffany, shouted at her.
narnia jumped up, and quickly spun around.
"um. . ."
"ummm?!" tiffany mocked her.
"i th–thought i heard something out there." she spoke in a soft tone.
"mmm. . ." tiffany was getting ready to look put the window.
"your money is on the table!" narnia exclaimed, causing tiffany to pull back.

narnia completely forgot dave was on the phone.
he was silent, listening to the conversation.
she muted the phone, before he could hear anything else.

"hmm. . . i'm going out," tiffany slurred, turning around and picked up a half bottle of vodka on the glass coffee table. "don't wait up."

narnia waited a few moments, before hearing the front door open and close.
she blew out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.

she unmuted the phone, and placed up on her ear.

". . .hello?"

"narnia! you okay?!"

"yeah."

her voice cracked.

"um, that was my. . . mom? she had forgotten where she placed her check."

she lied.

"narni—"

"i'm going to look now."

she cut him off before he could ask anymore questions.
she opened the door, and scanned her backyard.

there were at least three huge boxes.

"oh wow, hold on dave, i need to carry them in the house."

she told him before, placing down her phone - and getting ready to pick up the heavy boxes.

around five minutes later, of picking up and dragging the boxes - they were all finally in her room. she locked the door, behind her.

she picked up her phone that was sitting on the last box.

"dave?"

narnia listened for his voice.

"i'm here."

they're all in the room.

aight, the boxes are all labeled. open the one that is marked with an 'e' first.

alright

she looked for the marking he told her to look for.
she found it on the second box, she pushed in her room.

she tore it open with her house key.

when the tape was cut, she opened the box and looked into it.

"oh wow." her eyes scanned over the neatly packaged items in the box. there were so many things. things she didn't ask for and even thought of getting.

dave i can't take this

yes, you can. now there should be a gold wrapped box in there, find it and set it up. i wanna see your reactions.

"see?" narnia questioned to herself.
she found the box and grabbed it, unwrapping it's paper.
when she noticed what it was, she gasped. her face lighting up with joy and excitement.

no, you did not just get me a phone!

sho' did.

dave laughed, as she opened the box, and carefully took out the phone.

hurry up and set it up, girl.

don't rushhh me.

she laughed, powering it on.
it took her about ten minutes to get everything together.

okay, it's set up.

narnia cheesed as she swiped through her new phone.

look in the box again, my phone number is in there. facetime me.

dave told her before, hanging up.
"facetimeee?" narnia hopped up, and ran towards her small mirror. "okay, i look decent enough." she told herself, fixing her hair.

she walked back to her bed, and grabbed the small piece of paper.

' 800-768-1267 , call me bugs 💕 — dave '
the note said.

she dialed in his digits, but hesitated over the call button.
she took a deep breath, and pressed call.

"please like how i look, please like how i look, please like how i look." she prayed silently, as the phone rang. she heard that facetime changes your face a little, and that's the last thing she wants.

the phone call went through.
she froze in place, her forehead and blonde hair only in view.
it was silent for a moment.

don't nobody wanna see that forehead, show yo face.

dave demanded, narnia.
she slowly, but surely showed her face.
and then they made eye contact.

wassup, boo?

dave smiled – he looked at her with low, red eyes.
narnia dropped her phone, shocked.
she waved her hands in the air, embarrassed and flustered, shaking her head.
"uh uh, no, no. that ain't gon work!"

dave laughed at her uneasiness.

man, quit playing and let me see you again. yo fine—

"shut up, dave!"
