So, I've decided to do a series of chapters for the 100k special featuring Holo En with the soulmate AU because I may or may not have been reading a Takamori fic based on soulmate au's.
Anyway, I will be going in debut order, so Calli, Kiara, Ina, Gura and Amelia.
Calli's AU - First touch.
A soulmate Au where you have a black stain where your soulmate is supposed to touch you for the first time and it turns millions of colours once they do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nervousness was the one emotion that decided to plague you that morning. But, you guessed it was fine, since you could hear one of your genmates in the room over from you pacing back and forth by the sound of their footsteps. But it seemed like out of five people, you and (genmates name) were the only ones panicking.
You had brushed both your teeth and hair multiple times that morning, hoping to make the best first impression you could on your senpais, specifically, your English ones.
You had always been a huge fan of the entertai- I mean Idol Group, and being able to work in Hololive had been one of your greatest achievements.
While you were changing into your work clothes, or your regular streaming outfit, your eyes hovered over the mirror on a certain point on your back. A somewhat large black looking stain that was in the rough shape of a hand, the splotch of darkness that connected you to your soulmate.
When you had first joined Hololive, you'd had several brief thoughts about whether someone in your generation would be your other half, but having already come in contact with all of them, you brushed that thought off. A little part of your brain wondered if it could be one of the senior members, but with how little you came into contact with any of them, you didn't believe it could be true, but had hope.
After a very quiet and quick breakfast, you and the rest of your genmates were on your way to the meeting point. You and the first gen of Hololive English had decided to meet at a cosy little ramen shop that was just outside of the gated community that you and every other Hololive member lived in).
You felt your nervousness return as soon as the sight of the quaint little building came in sight, along with five others waiting outside. From where you were, all you could make out was the colour of their clothing, which was still slightly similar to their work clothes, and the colours of their hair.
Your eyes were drawn to the tallest figure of the group, though it wasn't of your own accord. She was maybe half a head taller than you, with long pink hair that reached the small of her back. While Calli wasn't wearing her usual reaper getup, she was still dressed in blacks and pinks (think the outfits from the Wah Wah World cover, same goes for Kiara).
The first to notice your group was the ever so adorable and popular Gawr Gura, who looked away from her conversation with Amelia to get really excited and start waving enthusiastically in your direction. You raised your hand to wave back once it became clear that Gura was in fact waving at you and your genmates and not someone behind your group.
Before you knew it the rest of your genmates had already started talking with your seniors, which left you by yourself with your social awkwardness.
Luckily you were saved when both Gura and Calli came over to talk to you. You quickly glanced over to where the others were to see Amelia and Ina trying to stop Kiara from being too bottom left, or at least Ina was somewhat trying and Amelia was just trying to stifle her gremlin laughter.
Though you expected the shark to give you a friendly, sharp toothed smile, you didn't expect for her to give you a rather forceful pat on the back. You assumed it was supposed to be a friendly gesture, but Gura just didn't know her own strength.
You and Gura quickly laughed about it while Calli looked on with a nervous expression, like she was worried Gura had actually hurt you.
"C'mon Calli! They're fine. In fact, why don't you do it!" You know, for a reaper, Calli was surprisingly against hurting anyone by the way she reacted.
Calli nervously glanced around with you and Gura smirking. The reaper was stumbling over her words, much like she did on her streams sometimes, you noted. You had to admit, it was kinda cute.
"Are... are you sure? I mean, I don't wanna hurt you if I hit too hard by accident..." Calli looked over her shoulder to see Kiara looking at her. The phoenix motioned something that you couldn't quite understand, but it made Calli flushed, so you assumed it was something to do with Kiara teasing her.
Turning back around, Calli was met with the wide stare of you, simply watching and waiting to see what she would do. Gura was giving her a gremlin look, something she must've learned from a certain detective.
After a few more moments of contemplation, Calli gave you a pat on the back. It was maybe a little harder than she meant for it to be, but still had less force than Gura's, although that wasn't what felt off.
You felt a rather weird tingle run up your spine, like goosebumps. You brushed it off as soon as Gura announced that she was hungry and the others started going into the quaint little building that was the ramen shop.
On the way in, Calli tried to catch your eye to see if you had felt the same shiver, but you had already started a conversation with Gura about what you and Gura wanted to eat. You'd never been here before while Gura had only been once or twice.
Clenching her fist, Calli simply followed with Kiara following directly on her heel. She didn't really want to confirm the thoughts that were running rampant in her head.
You ended up staying at the ramen shop (which turned out to have a lot more food than just ramen) for a lot longer than you expected, simply chatting and trying new foods.
There was an awkward tension between you and Calli that everyone but you seemed to notice, but chose to ignore.
Gura recommended several different foods, though you chose to listen to Ina when it came to the ramen as it was her favourite food. Several times throughout the day, Gura mixed random foods together, creating several abominations that would put Haachama's cooking to shame, though the shark didn't mind and would always eat whatever she created.
After paying the bill, the ten of you were on your way back to the apartment buildings (1). You sure hope that you didn't wake any of the others up on your way in. You knew Marine could be quite pissed off when woken up at around 11pm at night.
Since Amelia had decided to partake in sampling in the sake that the shop, she had gotten progressively more and more tipsy, so by the time you left the detective was being supported by both Gura and Ina. It was quite a funny sight.
But the one thing that had been bothering you was the fact that Calli had been uncharacteristically quiet for sometime. Even Kiara had decided to make conversation with you and a few of your genmates. Well... there was one point on the way back home where the phoenix and the reaper had exchanged a few hushed words that involved Calli showing her something in her hand.
You and the rest of your genmates waved goodbye to your seniors, a few of you yawning since it was late and unlike you, they didn't have a fucked up sleep schedule.
Right now, all you wanted to do was sleep, but the the clothes you were currently in weren't comfortable for sleeping in. You ended up deciding to wear one of your oversized t-shirts since you couldn't be bothered to fully change.
As you pulled the shirt over your head, your caught a glimpse a shiny colours out of the corner of your eye. You turned to see what it could be, but couldn't see the shine anywhere. The cogs in your mind started turning. It couldn't be? Could it?
You lifted the shirt up just enough to see the bottom of the once black stain which was now shimmering several different colours. Your mind instantly flashed back to your introduction with Calli and Gura. It could be either of them, couldn't it? Though for some reason your gut insisted it was the reaper, considering that was when you felt the odd chill and the fact that she seemed awkward around you.
Just as your mind started catching up on what was happening, you heard your phone buzz from where it was on your night stand. Quickly, you pulled your shirt down and walked over to see what caused the buzz.
It was a discord notification, and it was from none other than the tsundereaper herself.
It was odd considering you always almost talked in group chat if it was with any of your seniors.
Hey
Can I talk to you?
(Insert funny discord name)
Uhh
Yeah
Whatcha wanna talk about?
You were confused, but for some reason your heart was thumping loudly in your chest. Were you correct? Your mind wandered back to your now colourful splotch of skin just below your shoulder blades.
Can we talk outside?
That was it. No reason as to why Calli wanted to talk outside.
Well, the apartment buildings were next to each other, so if anything bad happened you could just rush back inside, and if someone somehow got into the premise, Calli would protect you, right?
You paused, listening for any noise that hinted towards the fact anyone else might be awake. It seemed that everyone else was just as worn out as you were, as you couldn't hear any footsteps or other ambience sounds.
After quickly throwing on a pair of shorts, you walked quietly past your genmates rooms, making sure you didn't wake anybody up. You grabbed a pair of keys on the way out in case this was a prank and someone tried to lock you out of the apartment.
True to her word, Calli was standing just outside beside the door to the 1st gen building under one of the street lights, looking way more flushed than you had ever seen on her streams. She was dressed in a pair of matching pyjamas that were covered in skulls, with slippers with skull faces on them. You also noticed that she still had both her tiara and veil in place, too.
You cursed silently considering it was much colder than you thought it was, and you were only wearing a thin t-shirt and shorts, not even bothering to put on your own slippers.
You silently walked up and stopped next to her, relishing in the slight warmth that the reaper radiated, though it wasn't much.
"I'm assuming your wondering why I asked you to meet me here..." Her voice was quiet and raspy like it usually got in the morning and night.
"Uh.. yeah, I'm a little confused" You awkwardly shuffled on spot. After sneaking a few glances, you noticed that Calli was fidgeting with her fingers. It might've been how tired you were, but you could've sworn you saw a flash of colour on her right palm.
After a few odd sounds that sounded like she was trying to say something but couldn't figure how to start her sentence.
"I don't really know how to say this, so I'm just gonna wing it" Calli finally turned to face you. She reached out with her left hand and took yours in it. She then slowly reached out her right hand, palm upwards. There was a blobby patch of shimmering colours that would shift from dark to light then back to dark.
"It's never been like this... I'm pretty sure it happened earlier when I slapped you on the back, at least I think so. I felt a-" You cut her off.
"A weird tingling sensation?" Calli simply nodded.
You turned around halfway and tugged down the back of your shirt just enough to see your stain following a similar pattern to the reaper's.
Both of you knew exactly what this meant, and... you were both ok with it. Instead of feeling any sort of embarrassment, you simply gazed into the reaper's crimson pink eyes, with Calli doing the same with you.
Both of you stayed like that for... you had forgotten how long. It felt like hours, but barely anything had changed in that time, including the moon in the sky which further solidified your thoughts.
The silence was broken by the sound of clapping coming from a few floors up in Calli's building.
You both turned around and looked upwards, you hands now intertwined with each others. You blinked a few times to make sure you were seeing things correctly. Beaming down at you with the brightness of the goddamn sun, was Kiara.
She looked like a fangirl whose favourite ship just came true. You, being tired and now rather cold, decided not to question it and simply fell into Calli's side, prompting her to quickly right the both of your and make sure you didn't fall again.
So here you were, half asleep being half cradled half hugged by your new reaper girlfriend, while her (not really) wing-woman (pun intended) cheered on her success.
So this is me experimenting with a few ideas, so feedback would be appreciated.
(1) I usually headcanon the hololive headquarters consists of the recording studios (where they stream) and then apartment buildings for each gen to live in on sight, for those of you wondering.
