Y/n POV:
It's hard being in a relationship with a guy you don't love while the one you love has to sit and watch you get hurt.
I once was in love with Ex/n, he was sweet, caring, all around amazing boyfriend. Since our 8 month anniversary, he became more possessive with me. Giving me rules of what and what not to do.
He would constantly fat shame me saying I needed to lose weight because no one would me love me if I'm fat. I wasn't able to hang out with any guys because he believed I would cheat on him, even though he would constantly cheat on me. And if I wanted to hangout with my girl friends, he had to be there, believing I would leave them and go hook up with someone.
He would always assure what he was saying was helping me, he was doing it because he loved me. I was so innocent and naive at the time and believed him.
Along with the mental abuse, he started to hit me. If I was late to class or dinner he would abuse me. Most of the Slytherins were aware of my situation and they couldn't interfere, I was in too deep.

I was making my way to the common room after dinner, and once the portrait door opened, I saw Ex/n and my roommate, Maria making out on the couch.
I started slowly clapping at the scene. I wasn't sad, I was happy. There was my chance to leave. I heard Theo, Blaise, Pansy and Draco walk in behind me.
"Bloody hell?" "What did that happen?" "Are you okay Y/n?" "Holy shit!"
"Don't you know." I started, at this point both of them pulled apart. "Lovely Ex/n and lovely Maria are snogging."
"No we're not." Maria defended.
"Don't lie Maria, it doesn't suit you." I smiled.
"Come on darling, she's nothing, I only love you." Ex/n came towards me.
I walked up to him, my lips right in front of his ear. I kissed under his ear before whispering. "We're done." And I smacked him across the face.
"Oh don't say that." He laughed. "You'll come running back, you always come running back."
"Not this time." I smirked. "Come along." I said to my friends as we made our way to the boys dorm. I grabbed Theo's hand and we walked to the room.
Once the door was closed, I started jumping and squealing.
"Are you alright?" Pansy looked at me.
"Bloody hell, I'm perfect. I'm free, I'm fucking free." I shook her shoulders. "I could kiss you right now."
"As much I'm happy for you, I'm not the one you should be kissing, Mr. Nott has been waiting." She smirked.
I turned to see Theo on the edge of the bed, flustered slightly. Immediately I ran over to him and crashed my lips in his throwing us back on his on the process. I wrapped my arm around his neck tugging slightly on the bottom of his hair while his wrapped around my waist. His hand grazed a healing bruise and I instantly pushed him off me.
I slid down on the post of his bed with my head in between my knees muttering nonsense.
"Hey, hey." Theo came down in front of me. "I'm not going to hurt you, I would never hurt you."
I lifted my head up and he slowly brought his hand out to cup my face. Out of instinct I jerked my head out of the way. "I'm sorry." I whispered.
"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault, your hurt and I'm here to help." He said softly. He once again brought his hand out and this time I let him come in contact with my face as he stroked my cheek. I let out shuddered breath at the calmness.
"It's okay, you're okay, you are safe." He whispered into my ear. "Let's get you back into bed."
He helped me up into his bed, laying me down and tucking me in. Theo went over to his closet to grab an extra pillow and blanket.
"What are you doing?" I asked looking at me with a confused face.
"I'm sleeping in the floor tonight." He dropped the pillow next to his bed.
"No, don't do that. Come." I made grabby hands at him. I could tell he was debating but eventually he came over and slowly got into the bed. He made sure there was distance between us not wanting to touch me.
As the night went on, he didn't move an inch. I slowly shifted over to rest my head on his chest, draping my legs on top of his. It took him a while before he wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on the top of my head.
"I love you Theo." I whispered into his chest believing he went back to sleep.
"I love you too, Y/n. I won't leave, I promise." He kissed the top of my head before drifting off to sleep.
Over the next couple months, Theo and I started out relationship. It wasn't easy, it was hard for me to have meals in front of me believing he fat shame me. The most we did was hand holding. I was still recovering from some bruises.
Theo was patient with me, slowly helping me become my old self. He didn't leave like he promised, he was there every step of the way.
