That night, after Deeks and Kensi had put Athena to bed and had dinner, Deeks decides to go outside and turn on the house alarm so that if anyone tries to break in, the alarms will go off. He takes the key, opens the box outside to find an alarm system. He flicks all the switches on to make sure that the alarms are set, locks the box and returns inside. He puts the key back on the key rack and turns to Kensi.
D: "well, the box is secured with the key, the alarms are set and *points* that locks locked because the top is wedged across, that lock is locked the same, so are those windows"
K: *smiling* "mhmmm..."
D: "oh, you like that don't you?"
K: *pulling him closer* "I do, I do love when you talk detective to me"
D: "I could talk search warrants...."
K: "mmmmm..."
D: "....chain of custody...."
K: "mhmm..."
D: "forensic DNA evidence....."
K: *bites lip*
D: ".....severed pinkies"
K: "M- No- Moments gone... I'm gonna go to bed cus im tired"
Kensi smiles and walks off to the bedroom, where Deeks contemplates putting "no severed pinkies" on his "note to self" list. Kensi and Deeks head off to sleep, with Athena sleeping quietly on the other side of their room.
During the night, the same man dressed in black turned up outside the safe house. He grabbed some lock cutters and cut the lock off of the alarm box and disabled the house alarm. He quietly enters the house, creeping up the stairs without making any noise. As he approaches the bedroom, he looks down at Athena and looks over Kensi and Deeks. He very carefully picks up Athena and holds him in his arms, making sure not to make her cry. She stays asleep, and he leaves a note on Deeks' bedside table.
As he walks down the stairs, Athena wakes up and starts crying. Kensi wakes up and turns over to find Athena MISSING, turns on the light while the man that has Athena runs out the house! She wakes up Deeks immediately.
K: "OH MY GOD DEEKS WAKE THE HELL UP!"
D: "What!? What time is it!?"
K: *crying* ATHENAS GONE!! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU LOCKED THE HOUSE!!"
D: "WHAT!? I DID!!!"
Both Kensi and Deeks are crying and running round the house, when Deeks finds the note on his table.
D: "hey Kens... you should probably have a look a this....."
Kensi rushes over to deeks trying to catch a breath, when both of their faces are shocked.
