When a waitress showed Lillian and Ryan to a table, she reached around Lillian and pinched Zane cheek lightly, "What a cutie!", she said. When she stood back up, she asked, "How old is he?".
"Two months.", Lillian answered.
"So handsome and such a beautiful family.", she said and Lillian blushed, thanking her. "Okay, what can I start you both with?".
"Pepsi for me.", Ryan said.
"Sprite.", Lillian said.
She nodded and left, getting there drinks. Lillian smiled at Ryan, happy they were doing something together as a family. He looked up from his menu with a confused amused face from her staring and chuckle, "What?"
She shrugged, "Nothing, just really happy. Today I realized how lucky I am because like you said like last night, most guys wouldn't stick around and I'm just happy you did."
"Well because I love you both.", he said. "Even if Zane does wake me up in the middle of the night."
She chuckled and wigged her finger at Zane and he grabbed her finger, bring it to his mouth. "No, no, no.", she said, taking her finger from him.
The waitress came back and gave them their drinks. Ryan ordered a bacon cheeseburger and Lillian got a breakfast meal of pancakes. Zane then started fussing and she took him out of the carseat, bouncing him.
"Shh, it's okay.", she said when he started crying.
"Here let me try.", Ryan said, holding his arms out and she handed Zane over to him, relief since she doesn't have to be the one to make him stop. She swears her biceps were all muscle now since she always holding the chunky baby. Ryan cradled him and bounced him, doing all the shhing and trying to calm Zane down. It took a moment, but he finally did. "Aww see, it's alright now.", he said. "What? What are you looking at?", he asked when Zane was just looking up at the ceiling and around the dinner.
He then placed Zane butt down him his lap and bounced him as Zane tried to put his fist in his mouth. They then started playing with him when Lillian grabbed a toy of his and switched over to sit next to Ryan.
Lillian was tickling his belly when the bell to the dinner ringed and Lillian heard a group of laughing teenagers. They both turned their heads to see people from school they knew coming in and one of them was Jeanette.
They all noticed Lillian and Ryan were here and they all seem to grow quiet and Lillian felt awkward as she turned her head away from them as she looked down at the table while Ryan said, "Hey guys."
"Is that your baby?", one of the girls squealed and came over to the table. "Oh my God, look how adorably cute he is!", she said, reaching over and grabbed his hand gently. "Look at his tiny hands and feet. Can I hold him?", she asked, looking at Lillian and Lillian nodded and Ryan gave her Zane. She bounced him and made baby noises as she spoke, "Aww, your just so cute. It's Zane, right?"
They both nodded as some of the others came over and looked at Zane, making baby noises and saying how cute he was. They also congratulated them both and Lillian couldn't help but think how fake they were. These were the same people who were calling her slut and a boyfriend stealer not so long ago and now that Zane's here, they think it's going to be alright?
Lillian couldn't help but take a sneak peak over to where Jeanette was and she was at table, looking down at her phone. Lillian knew she had no reason to feel guilty but something about it still made her feel bad.
She looked back at everyone as another girl was holding Zane and he didn't once cry, she actually think he was liking the attention.
"Oh, I just wanna take him home with me.", the girl said that was holding him and ticked his belly.
Ryan chuckled, "Oh no, not a good idea. I'll need my son back.".
"But he's just so cute.", she said. "Do you two like being parents?" she asked, looking at them.
Lillian smiled and ran her hands through Zane's hair, "Yeah, I do. It's hard, but worth it."
"He does give me something worth getting up in the morning for.", Ryan said.
"Aw, you guys make it sound easy.", she said.
Lillian breathed out as if she was exhausted again, "Believe me it's not, but it's not as terrible as people make it sounds.
"Are you going to be coming back to school?", the first girl that was holding Zane asked.
"Yeah.", Lillian said.
"But doesn't he need you?", she asked. "I hear your breastfeed and how would Zane get feed?"
She looked at her confused, wondering how she knew that. "How'd you know that?"
"Oh, my sister is friends with yours. They were talking about you one day.", she said.
"Oh.", Lillian said. "Well, he'll change to formula milk. Ryan mom will take care of him in the morning until I come home.".
"Well breastfeeding has done greats to your boobs.", they girl holding Zane said, chuckling. "You were flat chested before, but now, they bloomed!".
Lillian wasn't sure if she should take that as a compliment or insult but she just smiled as if everything was okay. They all took their turns holding Zane until the waitress came back with their food and they all left to go join where Jeanette was sitting on the other side of the room.
Lillian went back to the other side of the booth and placed Zane in the car seat. She took some of the little whip cream on her finger and placed it in Zane mouth and he sucked on it, seeming happy with it.
Lillian felt a little awkward now, being somewhere in the same place with Jeanette. She wonders if Ryan can feel it to but the boy looked calm as ever as if his ex girlfriend who he got best friend pregnant wasn't here, or maybe he was just a good actor at how hiding or maybe because his back turned to her and doesn't have to face to face with her.
After fifteen minutes of eating, Ryan suddenly stopped eating and she looked at him confused. "Lillian, what is that smell?", he asked.
Her eyebrows came together and she turned her head to Zane, leaning towards him and she realized what he meant. Her nose scrunch up and she covered it, "Oh jeez, Zane.".
"Could you please go change him?", he asked, sounding a little disgusted.
"I changed him all day, it's your turn.", she said.
"Lil, you know how I am! If I change him and come back out here, I wont be able to finish or worse, puke on my food.", he said.
"Okay, okay, fine.", she said, grabbing her purse that had diapers, baby powder, and whips in. "Come on Zane, daddy being to much of a girl right now.".
Ryan rolled his eyes as she chuckled and left for the bathroom. She put down the changing rack and placed Zane down on it, not looking forward the mess she's about to face. She wonders how much could come out a baby?
She pulled down his pants and opened his diaper. She held her breath as she cleaned him up and put a new diaper on him. Right as she was pulling his pants up, the bathroom door opened and she turned her head around to see Jeanette coming in. Lillian was surprised and more surprised not to see a snotty or mean look on her face.
"Hey.", she said, walking up to her. "I didn't-", she began awkwardly, shifting to one foot to another. "Could I hold him?"
Lillian was surprised at her question for a moment as she just looked at her. She then nodded and finished pulling his pants up. She picked Zane up and gave him to Jeanette. She held him in one arm and she smiled, "Jeez, he looks a lot of Ryan when Ryan was a baby.".
Lillian ran her fingers through Zane hair and nodded, "Yeah, everyone says that, but he has my eye shape and ears.".
Jeanette rocked Zane back and forth slowly and he took her finger in his small hand. After a moment, she looked back up at Lillian, "It's a good thing your coming back to school, lets just hope you can make it through.".
"I'm sure I can.", Lillian said. "I have a lot of support.".
"Yeah.", she said, taking a moment. "Look Lillian, I don't want there to be bad blood between us. We both made mistakes that night and maybe it was fate. Ryan and I weren't really working anymore anyways. I believe you when you said you didn't mean for it to happen, I know you. You would have never did that to me on purpose, never try to hurt me like that. I was just...I don't know, I was just angry because Ryan wanted to break up I guess. I miss you, a lot. You were there for me with everything and I should have at least tried to understand.".
Lillian gave her a small smile as he eyes began to tear up, "I've missed you to Jean, so much. Thanks for forgiving me...which I hoping that's what your doing." She said and they both chuckled.
Jean nodded, "Yes, I'm forgiving you. I wasn't the best girlfriend to Ryan or the best best friend to you either, hopefully we could just move on and be friends again?"
Lillian nodded as tears went down her face and they hugged with Zane in between them, wiggling, trying to break free.
Lillian stepped back after a moment and wiped her face clean from tears, "I should be getting back before Ryan began to wonder what's happening.".
She nodded and handed Zane back to her, "I"ll text you later and we could hang out soon, maybe.".
"Yeah, I'll like that.", Lillian said as she grabbed her purse and they left the bathroom together. They waved bye to each other before Lillian sat down on the booth and placed Zane in the car seat, giving him his toy.
Ryan raised an eyebrow, "So I see no cat fight happened."
Lillian giggled and shook her head.
"Besties again?", Ryan asked, turning his head to the side, confused as she nodded. "Oh wow, that's a surprise, but good...I guessing. You made two friends in one day, on your birthday.".
"Two amazing gifts, I guessing.", she said.
"And it's not finish yet.", he said and she gave him a confused look, but wouldn't tell her what he meant.

Lillian looked down at the heart shaped locket that had some swirls on top with a heart in the middle and placed it back down on her chest. She had a smile on her face as Ryan drove them to her parents houses to finish the night off.
A picture of both Ryan and Zane would go right into her locker she most deeply loved and probably be the most important jewelry she owns. It was almost fifty dollars for it and to top it off, Ryan bought her an outfit and a few CD's since she could stand the music he plays in the car sometimes. She told him he didn't have to get her anything, but he would argue back saying yes he does and he has lots of money lift for Zane.
When they arrived to her parents house, she took Zane out the car seat and went up to her parents house. When her mom opened the door since it was locked, she happily said 'happy birthday!' cheerfully. She hugged Lillian, "Oh my baby! One more year until your eighteen, known as a legal adult! I'm getting so old.".
"Oh no, mom.", Lillian said. "Lets not repeat what you did with Brad. Your still beautiful for your age.".
"Yeah, Jennifer, you could still hit the clubs and bar with my mom.", Ryan said and Lillian mom pursed her lips at him.
"Ha-ha, Ryan.", she said before looking at Zane and wiggled her fingers towards him, "Hi baby boy! Oh how much I've missed you!", she said, taking Zane from Lillian and gave him kisses which he did his smiles for her. "I made you that birthday cake you wanted me to make.".
"Not from the box, right?", she asked, eyeing her mother.
Her mom held a hand up, "Right from scratch, I promise. I made sure to call grandma and make the recipe just right.".
Lillian was excited to eat the devil recipe chocolate cake, she has been craving chocolate for such a long time since Meredith like to keep things healthy around the house.
When her father arrived home fifteen minutes later, they could finally eat the cake in the living room. They put candles on the cake to Lillian disagreement since she hated getting sang to, but they did it anyways. Lillian sat on the floor in front of the coffee table, the cake in front of her, and just wanted to eat the damn cake already!
After they sang, she blew the candles out. They clapped and Cassandra who was holding Zane was next to Lillian and wasn't cradling Zane, Zane smashed his hand into the cake and waved his messy hand around, causing a mess and was crying as everyone laugh at him.
Lillian cleaned his hand off and took him, shhing him for to calm down. Zane stuck the little bit messy hand in his mouth and began to suck on his hand, making Lillian giggle down at him.
