~Nate's pov~

Nate was pretty quick to realize (Y/n) needed space. As much as he didn't like it, the brunette accepted it.

Well, until recently, when Nate noticed a new addition to (Y/n)'s friend group. He swore that the only reason he cared was because there was a new person around Stella. That was what he told himself, but the other male didn't seem remotely interested in Stella.

His attention was all on (Y/n). Nate could tell the blonde liked (Y/n). Based on his oblivious look, (Y/n) had no idea, despite it being written all over the other's face.

It bothered him. Nate didn't like that it bothered him, but it did. What made it worse is that one day, the two suddenly became closer.

Nate watched the scene with annoyance from across the cafeteria. (Y/n) was leaning against the blonde while eating his food. Stella must have said something because the (h/c)ette scrambled into an upright position with a scarlet blush on his face. He gave the girl a mock glare and said something that Nate couldn't hear through the sea of loud students.

~(Y/n)'s pov~

The class after lunch was always awkward. It was an hour and a half of sitting beside the one person (Y/n) was trying to avoid. Still, nothing could ruin that day; not even Nate.

Today was (Y/n)'s date with Jaxon. A part of him couldn't believe Jaxon was talking to him, let alone dating him. He let out a blissful sigh as he thought of what would happen only hours later. (Y/n) was the first to admit he was a hopeless romantic. He loved all of the romance cliches, as corny as they where. He snapped out of his thoughts by the teacher starting class.

~~~~~
(Y/n) felt frozen in his seat. Of course this would happen. Why wouldn't it? The universe just hates him. As if the teacher heard his thoughts of cliches, they where doing a project. One they would be doing with the person beside them.
The bell had rang already and (Y/n) heard it. He was just mimicking a statue as if the project would go away if it didn't see him. Well, more like his obsessive project partner would go away if he didn't see him.
"You do realize you can't keep ignoring me if you want to get this done" Nate said. His expression was blank, contrasting the twinge of amusement in his voice. "I know" (Y/n) said in a small voice.
After school, (Y/n) walked home with Stella. The girl had insisted on helping him get ready for his date. (Y/n) was sure he'd be grateful if it weren't for the fact that her eyes shinned with a light only seen in fangirls. So he was terrified.
When they got to (Y/n)'s house, Stella pulled him up to his room, not giving him any time to greet his siblings. Stella sat him down in his desk chair, adjusting the height to give her the best view of his hair.
The (h/c) mop that lived on (Y/n)'s head decided it didn't want to cooperate, making the hair styling process take longer than intended. After it was to Stella's liking, she started looking through (Y/n)'s clothes.
"You don't have anything date-worthy" She noted out loud. "That's because I didn't think I'd ever be in a situation to need anything 'date worthy'" (Y/n) retorted, earning a flick on the forehead.
Stella tossed a pair of black dress pants at her friend. "Put this on. I'll be right back" She instructed before leaving the room. (Y/n) sighed before doing as he was told. A few moments later, Stella returned, this time holding something in her arms.
"Here" She said, handing (Y/n) what was in her arms, "Put this on". He looked down at the fabric in his arms. It was a silver sweater, one (Y/n) recognized. "Is this Skyler's?" He asked. "It is and she said you can borrow it as long as you don't, in her words, 'get any of that shit on it'" Stella said, mimicking Skyler's voice for the last part.
(Y/n) made a mental note to kill his sister when he realized what she was implying. The two heard a knock on the door. (Y/n) threw on the sweater, adjusting it to look right before following Stella to the front door.
(Y/n) reached for the door knob, hesitating for a split second before pulling the door open. "Hey," He froze when he saw who it was, "Jaxon and Nate?"
He stared at the two men outside his door. Stella poked her head over (Y/n)'s shoulder, gasping at what she saw. "What you got both of them?!" She hissed, but her comment was ignored by the others.
"I thought I'd come over to start on the project" Nate said, eyes flicking from Jaxon to (Y/n). Oh, right. I never told him. "I-I'm actually busy today" (Y/n) said, glancing at the very confused blonde in front of him.
Nate nodded with an unreadable expression. He turned and left without a word. "He seems nice" Jaxon said with a nervous laugh. "I'm so sorry. I completely forgot to tell him I was going with you" (Y/n) said, eyes glued to the ground.
"It's okay" Jaxon said. He then grabbed (Y/n)'s hand, leading him to the truck that was pulled into the driveway. "So," (Y/n) started once they where both in the truck, "Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise" Jaxon replied with a playful smile. The ride was filled with conversation and laughter, making the 20 minute ride feel like 20 seconds. "The drive-in theater?" (Y/n) mumbled excitedly.
He loved watching movies. The drive-in theater happened to be his favorite way to do so. "They're playing (F/m) ((Favorite movie)). I thought you'd like to see it" Jaxon said with a smile. (Y/n) nodded with a smile. "It's actually my favorite movie" he confessed excitedly.
When they got to their spot, Jaxon turned to (Y/n). "Stay in here. I need to get a few things ready" He said, getting out of the truck. (Y/n) hummed to himself as he spotted a portable radio. He adjusted it to the correct station and listened to the trailers for different movies.
Jaxon knocked on the window, letting (Y/n) know he was ready. The (h/c)ette got out of the truck and was immediately brought around to the trunk. The truck bed was covered in pillows and blankets.
"Marry me" (Y/n) muttered. "What?" Jaxon asked with a confused look. "N-nothing" the shorter male answered, finding a spot amongst the blankets. Jaxon joined him, taking the spot next to him. The blonde had just enough time to get comfortable before (Y/n) snuggled up to his side.
He smells nice. (Y/n) smiled at the familiar scent of his boyfriend's cologne. "I take it I chose a good date?" Jaxon asked with a smile. "This has literally been my dream date since middle school" (Y/n) replied with a happy sigh.
The movie was great, but (Y/n) found it much more enjoyable thanks to the warmth of the male beside him. When (Y/n) met people, he tended to be quieter and more distant until he deemed them trustworthy (unless you meet him by shoving a knife in his face). That left most people surprised to find that the male was was very cuddly, showing his emotions with lots of hugs and snuggles.
So he was glad that Jaxon didn't seem to mind his touchiness. (Y/n) let out a happy sigh, glancing at his boyfriend from the corner of his eye. I could stay just like this forever. (Y/n) moved one of his legs slightly, finding it's original spot to be not as comfortable. Okay, now I could stay just like this forever.
~~~~~

(Y/n) woke up with a groan. His eyes were met with the familiar sight of his bedroom. I don't remember falling asleep. (Y/n) searched through his tired brain, trying to think of how he got there.

His thought process was interrupted when he noticed a bright pink sticky-note stuck to his phone. He picked it up, giving himself a second for his brain to understand English.

Good morning!
You fell asleep last night and so I brought
you home. I had fun last night and hope you did too

-Jaxon

(Y/n) found himself smiling like an idiot as he read over the note. After everything that was happening with Nate's psycho ass, (Y/n) hadn't let himself enjoy much. He kept himself busy with worrying about what all could go wrong. But, looking down at the note and remembering the night before gave him hope that things were looking up.

Who knows? Maybe now that I'm in a relationship, Nate will stop seeing me as a 'threat'. (Y/n) pulled himself out of bed. His book bag happened to catch his eye from it's place in the corner of his room.

Speaking of Nate, I guess we should work on that project. (Y/n) didn't have Nate's phone number, but he could guess where to find him. He reached for his phone, clicking on the contact with Stella's name.

It rang for a bit before a less than thrilled Stella answered it. "Do you have any idea what time it is?" A tired voice hissed from the phone. "Umm..." (Y/n) glanced at the time, "10:56?"

"Exactly" Stella replied. (Y/n) rolled his eyes, as if the red haired girl could see him. "Do you have Nate's number?" He asked, ignoring Stella's remarks. "I wish, but you're basically the only one he talks to" She said with a groan.

(Y/n) let out a sigh. "Okay then. We have a project and the one time I actually need him, he isn't glued to my side" he said. The two then continued to talk about random things for the next two hours.

When they got off the phone, (Y/n) started getting ready. I guess I'm going yandere hunting.

I swear when I find him... (Y/n)'s mind trailed off, trying to think of a good threat. He didn't even want to talk to Nate in the first place and yet, here he was. Cold and wet from the sheet of rain that had suddenly appeared overhead.

Screw it! I'm going home! (Y/n) honestly had no idea why he didn't do that when the rain started, but he was going now.

When he got home, (Y/n) made a beeline to the bathroom. He stripped himself of his soaked clothes and got in the shower, wanting nothing more than to feel the warmth of the shower water on his back.

After a few more minutes of shower karaoke, (Y/n) wrapped himself in a towel and made his way towards his room. Okay, (Y/n). Don't forget about the ball of wet clothes you left in there. Do. Not. Forge-- (Y/n)'s thoughts were interrupted by his own scream.

His wide eyes were met with the bored scarlet orbs that belonged to none other than Nate. The taller male was sitting on (Y/n)'s bed, reading one of (Y/n)'s books. Nate looked back down at the book in his hands as if it was completely normal to just appear in someone else's room.

"W-wha-what the hell a-are you doing h-here?" (Y/n) hissed. "I don't think I'll ever understand your taste in books" Nate said, ignoring (Y/n)'s question. He glanced up at (Y/n), seemingly just noticing that he was just wearing a towel.

"Go ahead. I'm not looking" He said, burying his nose in the book. Yeah, like hell I'm changing in here. (Y/n) shuffled over to his closet, picking out some clothes while holding the towel in a death grip.

After changing in the bathroom, (Y/n) sat down on the bed, sitting as far away from Nate as possible. Sure he was uncomfortable scrunched up against the wall, but there was no way he was going to have a repeat of the last two times they were alone together.

Nate stared at him, almost as if waiting. But for what? "(Y/n)" Nate said, snapping the smaller male out of his worried thoughts, "The project". (Y/n) blinked, processing Nate's words. "O-oh," He stuttered, "Yeah, let's do that".

Most of the project was done in silence. Neither dared to utter a word. (Y/n) didn't even look up from his paper, despite feeling Nate glance up at him from time to time. "(Y/n)" Nate said in a serious tone, startling the (h/c) haired boy.

 "We need to talk"
