Y/N's POV.
I wake up the next day with the sun shining over me through the small window in the infirmary, where I had to come back to Alexandria to help A.J, after he was shot on the side. I'm not sure how everyone in town will feel about us coming back after we were kicked out. But I know I have to tell Rick about the possibility of Alexandria being in danger from a militia that I don't even know how big they are or how armed. I get up from my bed and go out the door, to see if A.J is awake. I go to where he's laying at and see him awake and Maggie's tending to his wound.
"Hey, A.J." I Said, in a relieved tone as I sit next to his bed.
"I'm sorry I screamed last night. I was trying to be quiet so the monsters won't hear us." A.J said.
"It's okay. We're back in Alexandria, so you could scream as loud as you wanted. I'm just so glad your okay. And we have Maggie to thank for saving you." I Said.
"Stitching wounds isn't a problem for me. It's who I'm doing it to is what makes me nervous. But you pulled through. Your one tough little seven year old." Maggie said. "I even took the liberty of getting some shirts for him. Was a shame to cut up this nice sweater." She said as she points to some shirts on the table.
"Thank you. Hey, can you go get Rick for me? I have to talk to him about something." I asked.
"Sure. I'll go find him." Maggie said.
"Oh and Maggie?" I Said as Maggie turns back to me. "How is everyone gonna handle us being back here?"
"Their just gonna have to deal with it. Wasn't the first time we all had to kick someone out and let them back in again." Maggie said. She leaves and I go to the table to pick out a shirt for A.J. I see a red shirt with a big palm tree in front. A regular blue shirt and a shirt with Disco Broccoli on it. Yes, this ones perfect. I picked it up and showed it to A.J.
"What do you think? You like it?" I asked.
"Yeah. I think it looks cool and I could put my jacket on over it." A.J Said as he sits up and looks at it.
"It sure will. Go ahead and put it on." I Said as I put it on his bed. A.J puts on the shirt and as he did this, I hear a door open and close in the back. Kenny then came in and was happy to see us awake.
"Hey, A.J." Kenny said.
"Uh hi?" A.J said. A.J looked over at me and wondered who this man is.
"A.J, this..is the man that took care of us for a short while. The same man that wore the hat your wearing." I Said as I pointed to his hat. Kenny then goes to one of the seats beside the bed and sits down. I then see Kenny wipe away a tear from his eye. Not a tear of sadness, but a tear of joy. From the sight of the boy he swore to take care of. A.J then took off the hat and handed it to Kenny.
"No. You keep it, Alvin Junior." Kenny said as he pushes the hat away to A.J.
"But it's yours. Y/N said that if we ever saw you again, I should give it back." A.J said.
"Did you now?" Kenny said as he turns towards me.
"Well, I wasn't just gonna throw it away. I made a promise to hold on to it for you and have him wear it, when he gets old enough. To keep the sun out of his eyes." I Said.
"Those were my words. Okay, I'll take the hat back." Kenny said as he takes the hat and puts it on his head. He looks at the mirror and checks himself out. He brushes away some of his long hair on his head and chuckled. "Guess you were right, Y/N. It is time for a trim." He said as he turns back to me and smiles. "Just look at you, son. Ten years ago when we first met, you were as tall as a baby horse. And now I see you again, grew up to be such a handsome young man and taking care of Alvey here." He says as he points to A.J. "I just...feel accomplished. That I taught you how to be a great man and to survive for his sake."
"He's a great teacher. Him and Clementine. Where is Clementine, by the way?" A.J asked. I froze for a second, thinking about where Clementine is and that I have to tell A.J. I sighed and sat down on the bed next to A.J.
"A.J...She distracted some walkers after you passed out, to give us a chance to make it back to Alexandria." I Said. A.J jaw dropped and eyes widened.
"We have to go and find her then." A.J said as he took off the covers and tried to move but his wound made him stop and held his side. I grabbed him with both my arms by his shoulders.
"She'll be okay, A.J. Clem's smart, you know this." I Said, trying to calm him.
"She needs us!" A.J said as he try's to struggle out of my grasp.
"What she needs right now, is for you to be here. Your hurt and you need to heal. Would you want her to worry more for you if you go running around the woods looking for her?" Kenny asked. A.J then stops and I let go of him and he lays back down on the bed.
"No, she would want me to stay calm and...and..." A.J Says, trying to remember one of our rules.
"Think. She would want us to stay calm and think good things." I Said.
"Yeah, think good and hopeful things." A.J Says to himself. I then hear the door open and Rick comes in.
"How's you holding up, A.J?" Rick asked.
"It hurts a little. But I think I can be on my feet again soon." A.J Says.
"That's great. Cause I'm gonna need you to tell me what the man looks like, so I can arrest him for you later on." Rick Says, trying to lighten the mood.
"What does that mean?" A.J asked.
"It means putting them away from the good guys. Locked up and not to come out for a while." I Said as A.J nods in understanding. I then stood up and shook Rick's hand. "Thank you for helping us."
"Anytime, kid. Your friends are waiting for you outside. You should go tell them about A.J." Rick said. I nodded and looked at Kenny, asking if he could watch A.J.
"I'll look after him. You go spread the word." Kenny said.
"And Y/N, ill send out some people to look for Clementine. Once she comes back, you both need to have a meeting with me, the council and Marlons friends. Meet at my house when you can." Rick Says. I nodded and we went out the door. Rick goes to collect his council members and I see Ellie. Violet. Carl and Louis. Ellie then ran up to me and hugged me tightly.
"Is A.J okay?" Ellie asked as she looked at me.
"A.J's fine. He'll have a scar on his stomach but he's okay." I Said as Ellie sighs I'm relief and let's go of me. I look towards Louis as he goes up to me and rubs his head in a nervous way.
"Listen, Y/N. I'm so sorry. If I had known about the raiders, I wouldn't have voted you guys out. So that A.J wouldn't been shot." Louis said, sounding emotional.
"Louis, it's okay. Alright? A.J's fine. Maggie saved his life and he'll be back on his feet soon." I Said to everyone, reassuring them. "After all, all of us are in the Team Badasses. Right?" I Said, trying put everyone on ease.
"Yeah, we are indeed." Carl Said, which made him and everyone else chuckled a bit.
"What did happen out there? How did you guys escape?" Violet asked.
"Marlon was out there and he saved us but...he got shot too, I think." I Said. Once I Said this, Louis eyes widened and fear consumed his face. "But he got away. He's fine, hopefully. And..." Just then, I remembered Clem's still out there! "Shit, Clementine." I Said. Just before I was about to run to the gate, I froze in my tracks when I saw her up the road, staring at me with relief and happiness. We both then ran for each other with tears in our eyes and we embraced with a big hug and kissed each other deeply. We parted and I buried my face in her shoulder.
"I...I'm..." Is all I could say.
"Oh, Y/N Miller. You were always one for words." Clementine Said.
"Words that won you over, of course." I Said. We let go of each other and she the put her hands on my shoulder.
"Where's A.J? Is he alright?" Clem asked.
"A.J's Okay. Maggie helped her. But...you won't believe who else is here." I Said happily.
"Who?" Clem asked before I turned to walk with her to the infirmary, we see Kenny standing there with A.J. Clementine's jaw dropped as Kenny and A.J walked up to us. Kenny smiles with joy as he finally sees the other kid that he helped in difficult times and cared for. "Kenny?" Is all Clementine could say.
"Hey there, darlin." Kenny said softly before Clem embraced him with a hug. Kenny hugged back and couldn't hold back his tears. "I see your still as small as the day I left you. Small but strong little girl."
"And I see A.J gave you back your hat. It did its job. Keeping the sun out of his eyes." Clem said. She then turned her attention to A.J and hugged him. "How you doing, kiddo?"
"I'm feeling better. I did what you and Y/N told me to. Tell fear to...to..." A.J Says, trying to remember.
"Tell it to fuck off." Me and A.J said. Kenny then laughed his ass off at this. "What?" I Said.
"I see your already teaching the boy to swear." Kenny said.
"Well, I wouldn't say teaching. More like him hearing us swear. " Clem said as we all laughed at this.
"Yeah and I see you and Y/N got along just fine the last time I saw you..." Kenny said as he smirked. He must've saw us kiss, so I snuck my hand into Clem's. "I just knew you two would fall in love once you got older. You both were and still are inseparable."
"And I get to boss him around anytime I want." Clem said as we laughed again.
"Alright, so Rick told me that me and Clem have to attend to a meeting with his council and the Ericsson kids at his house. You gonna come Kenny?" I asked.
"If it's about you three, then yes." Kenny said.
"Alright, lets go then." I Said. We all began to walk to Ricks house to start the meeting with Rick's council and Ericsson kids. Some people are not gonna appreciate us being back but they have to know about this potential threat roaming around Alexandria. It's the right thing to do.
