"You asked me to come in," Demilade said. "I guess you were expecting Debbie."

She nodded. And she finally found her voice. "Yes." And she moved uncomfortably where she stands. "Excuse me. I need to turn off the tap."

He nodded and she went into the bathroom and returned minutes later.

She rubbed her hands on her thigh and his eyes followed her movement. His eyes unconsciously move to where she was rubbing her hands. She was wiping the water in her hands on her shorts.

She was in her shorts as usual but it was like crazy pair of jeans but it was bum short that stop above mid-thigh which reveals her flawless legs and a crop top that hangs her body tightly.

Demilade licked his suddenly dry lips and he forced himself to look away from her body. His body was already reacting just from looking at her.

He tried to look elsewhere except for her body. She was tempting as hell. And he can't deny that. He didn't know why he entered the room in the first place. It will take some time to take the pictures of her body away from his head.

He tapped his feet on the floor nervously.

"Do you have a problem with anything in the bathroom?" He asked quietly.

"It's fine. I've handled it." She assured him.

"Okay. If you have any problems with it, just let me know I will call the plumber or you can tell Deborah." He finished thinking she will be more comfortable with the latter.

          Lola nodded. "I will."

"Hmm. I want to apologize for how I bought up the matter this morning. I know it's been selfish of me. Putting my needs before others. It's annoying, I know and I am sorry. You are not some robot or puppy that I should be controlling. I know you have your life and I am the least person you want to be with. And I sincerely apologize for how I treated you. And also... For my choice of words when you came to my office." He said. He exhaled. Not out of relief because he can't be relieved yet when she hasn't forgiven him but because he had finally said the word. He had apologized.

He still can't forgive himself for what he said that day to her. And he knew that the wall had grown thicker between them because of what happened that day.

He was getting tired of all the games. It's hard to keep denying how he truly feels. He didn't want to let her go and if apologizing over and over again is going to help mend their relationship, he is ready to do it. Until he can decide what he is going to do about his feelings for Lola.

She was affecting him like no other lady does and the feeling he keep denying were building up. Most times he doesn't feel the need to apologize to someone, most especially women. They were mostly after two things - His money and his body. If that is what it takes to please some of them, he gave them. It doesn't matter if it was sincere or not. His money does the trick.

But not in Lola's case. She brings out that part of him that he had learned to bury a long time ago. He had broken many of his rules since he met her. The side of him that he hadn't shown anyone in ages, he had shown to her.

She does what others can't do to him. He can't remember the last time he sound so regretful, felt so embarrassed and apologized so sincerely to someone. But he is doing all that to her because he wants to keep her.

And for the very first time in his life, his money seems to be useless. Lola wasn't really after his money. She has pride and she doesn't slide on her principles. So his money can't get him what he needs right now.
