AEIGNN

         

Mabilis akong lumabas ng opisina ko at tumuloy sa taong alam kong maaaring mag-klaro sa akin ng lahat ng iniisip ko sa mga oras na ito. Siya lang ang tangi kong pagkakatiwalaan sa ngayon.

            

Kumatok na muna ako ng tatlong beses bago ako pumasok sa loob. Naabutan ko siyang nakayuko at may mga pinipirmahan na mga papeles.

           

"Sit down," aniya sa akin ng hindi ako tinatapunan ng tingin.

             

"Mom—"

                  

"I didn't expect it either," aniya saka nagtaas ng tingin sa akin at nagtama ang mga mata namin. Her cold eyes was too intimidating. She's my mom, yet I also get intimidated.

                 

"Don't you know anything about it? If I need to beg you to tell me something about her, I will, Mom. I need to fucking—"

              

"Don't curse in front of me. I'm not just someone, Aeignn Lev," walang emosyon niyang putol sa akin.

             

"I'm just so frustrated right now. How can my wife be a traitor? How can she be like that? I've known her for too long—"

            

"Kilala mo nga ba talaga siya? Or was it just your ego dictating you that you know her kahit hindi naman talaga? You see son, we tend to get blind when we trust too much," malaman niyang wika sa akin na unti-unting nagpapabuo ng mga senaryo at katotohanan sa utak ko.

                

"Mom, was she the reason why you pulled off Eerie's case from the elite agents?" I feel so fucking helpless. Nakakapanlumo lang.

     

I saw her nod at me.

    

"You've grown well, Aeignn. I saw your evolution. I saw how you turned into a man. You're like your dad on certain things. Noon natatakot ako sa maaaring kahinatnan ng buhay mo, pero ngayon ay nakikita kong alam mo naman kung ano talagang gusto mo. It's just the fact that the situation doesn't permits you to be happy," I saw the sadness in her eyes.

       

"Why does it have to be her? Why did you allow me to bring her here? Why did—"

                 

"Because I thought that her love for you is greater.... but I guess I was wrong? For the second time in my life, I went wrong," aniya saka tumayo mula sa upuan niya at naglakad patungo sa harapan ko.

           

"When was the first time?"

        

"When I almost lost the three of you just to save your Lola Adelle," sagot niya sa akin saka mapait na ngumiti. "I know few things about your wife, Aeignn. Hindi ko lang alam kung kaya mong tanggapin ang mga katotohanan na iyon," pagpapatuloy niya sa akin.

                  

"May mga iilan akong impormasyon na nalaman ukol sa kaniya nang minsang maiwan niya ang bag niya sa opisina ko. I thought it was just a side mission, but as I browsed the folder, I was shocked," wika ko kay Mommy at muli siyang ngumiti sa akin ng mapait saka umiling.
