Trigger ↬ [ P.JS ]

Chapter 1:

The owner looked at Gray, and then at Astrid, smiling and pointing at the carnations. "Carnations symbolize love overall. Many moms like those." The old woman shared.

Gray glanced at Astrid, digging into her pocket and paying for the flowers. "We'll take a bouquet please, thank you!" she smiled.

"Hey! I wanted to pay." Astrid unintentionally pouted.

"It's okay, boo." Gray giggled, walking over to Rina, who've been waiting for the two, a little too long.

"What if it doesn't work?" Astrid nervously fiddled with her fingers.

"Who could resist our charms? Everyone likes us." Rina boasted, flipping her hair to Gray's face.

"Hey,"

"Oops, sorry."

Gray just glared at the girl and huffed, smelling the flowers they bought. She sniffed the bouquet and nodded in satisfaction. "I think your mom will love this." She smiled to the obviously nervous Astrid.

Astrid was thankful to have such understanding and amazing friends as Gray and Rina. Though they're the only one she pretty much knew, they cherish each other. Rina knocked on the door of Astrid's fancy home. It was quite big, and knowing that Astrid's parents are very successful, it was no surprise.

The door then opened, revealing a woman in her 40's. The interior designing was done perfectly. With earth toned walls, along with light and preppy furnitures. There was an elegant chandelier hanging off the white tall ceiling. The floor was shiny and tiled, still coordinating with the house theme.

"Hi darlings! What brings you here? Come inside!" Lia, Astrid's mom welcomed the trio.

They all hesitantly bowed in respect and stepped inside the wealthy home.

"Do you girls want anything to drink?" Lia asked, making sure her daughter's friends were comfortable.

They all shook their heads no before gently sitting on the couch, clearly intimidated by the woman. It wasn't the first time they went here, but they still haven't warmed up to the mother.

Astrid's family was well known in the area of New York. Both her parents are skilled doctors and engineers, gaining an incredible amount of respect. Of course, just like anyone else, Astrid was pressured into doing her best.

Her mom resembled her a lot. Her dark brown hair, her almond shaped eyes and even her smile. And she also got one thing especially from her mom, presence.

Astrid was known in school for being a charismatic girl who had perfect grades. She fought anyone that wronged her and anyone who wronged everyone else. She was feisty.

With the three girl sitting uncomfortably in the couch, they looked at each other, motioning on who'll speak.

"Uh, Mrs, Lee." Gray built up all the courage she had, which was quite a lot.

"Yes, Gray?"

Gray didn't know if she was delusional but her name coming out of Lia's mouth was scary and it certainly wasn't pleasant.

"I was wondering if it's okay with you if Astrid came to a sleep over at my place? I'll make sure that you're daughter is safe. I won't let her out my sight-"

"-and we brought rice cakes and flowers!" Rina cut off her blabbering.

Lia chuckled at the trio. She nodded her head.

"We're going on a business trip, anyways. I was already planning on making Astrid stay on your house. Thank you for the gifts, sweetie." She gently took it from Rina's hands.

"Wait- you actually agreed." Astrid blinked in her seat.

"Of course! Didn't you hear what I just said?"

"No! Nope! I heard it clearly! Ha ha ha thanks mom!" She awkwardly laughed, scratching her nape, afraid that Lia will change her mind.

"Oh and when are you guys taking Astrid?"

"Now. Bye, Ms. Lee! We love you!"

Hi! First chapter, what do you think? Please enjoy the book! I put a lot of effort making the plot :) I know Astrid is still a bit cringe and english isn't my first language so..
