ROCKWELL: This was your warning.
ROCKWELL walks off and is replaced by HAYES.
HAYES: (nods to Maxine) Richards. Woods and Kelly said that you have their mission file?
MAXINE: Yes sir.
HAYES: Good. Meet me in my office in fifteen minutes.
MAXINE: Yes sir.
HAYES walks off quickly and DEX turns to MAXINE.
DEX: I thought Woods and Kelly were on break?
MAXINE: No. Hayes sent them to try and find Markovetz.
DEX: (anxious) He's still missing?
MAXINE: Unfortunately yes.
DEX: Do we have any leads?
MAXINE: Classified.
DEX: Really?
MAXINE: Sorry kid, Director's orders.
DEX: Damn.
MAXINE: You two still up for lunch in the lab?
DEX: If Lee's not dead by then.
MAXINE nods and walks off towards the other side of the agency.
CUT TO:
INT. TECH LEVEL OF THE V.I.U. - CONTINUOUS
KAYNE is waiting by the door of DEX and LEE labs as LEE jumps down from the stairs, but trips and hits the ground. She scrambles to her feet and runs over to the lab door, sliding onto her knees to reach the keypad.
LEE: (as she types the pin in) You didn't miss your flight again, did you?
KAYNE narrows her eyes, which makes LEE flinch.
KAYNE: (sighs) No. I came down here ten minutes early.
LEE: (very relieved) Oh thank goodness!
KAYNE: Let's just get this over with. Nunavut won't save itself.
LEE nods and walks into the lab, followed slowly by KAYNE.
[Lee and Dex's lab isn't the cleanest, but it appears to be organized in a way. Lee has the right side of the room, and Dex has the left. Dex's side is the cleaner one, but he does have computers and tablets all over his long desk. Lee's side has spare parts and tools all over the long desk, but there is one clear spot that has a sign that says, "reserved".]
LEE jumps over the desk on the reserved spot and ducks behind the desk. KAYNE looks around, disgusted.
KAYNE: Exactly how can you work in such a messy place?
LEE pops back up from behind the desk, holding a box.
LEE: It may be messy, but I know where everything is.
KAYNE: (tired)Whatever you say kid. What do you have for me?
LEE pushes some spare parts behind the desk, leaving room for the box, which she sets on the table and opens. LEE takes out a long rectangular device and holds it up.
LEE: So Nunavut is a snowy place, right?
KAYNE: (nods) Yeah. Aren't you supposed to be smart?
LEE: First, that was a solid burn that actually stung a little. Second, yes I am. Let's say you need to get somewhere fast, and the fastest way is through a snow filled area. If you take any vehicle that isn't made for snow and place this device on the front bumper, it will melt the snow and ice in front of you, making it easier to ride through.
