FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot: Part One

MARION: Thanks kid!

ROCKWELL: No fair! He distracted me!

LEE: That's your own fault, not his.

MARION is holding in her laughter as she helps ROCKWELL off of the floor.

ROCKWELL: (grumbles) Yeah, yeah.

DEX: You are a senior agent mate! You should always be ready!

DEX and LEE high five, laughing as they continue walking towards their office. LEE motions for DEX to go first and DEX grins as he walks through the door. He walks behind his desk, opening the bottom right drawer, which is labeled "Poker Winnings". Inside the drawer, are jars of candy. DEX opens the skittles jar and empties the zip lock bag full of the skittles he had just won into the jar.

As DEX does that, LEE throws the deck of cards onto her desk and flops into her chair. DEX takes out a cherry blow-pop from the jar of blow-pops and tosses it to LEE. She catches it and unwraps it, popping it in her mouth as she logs onto her laptop and starts looking at blueprints and other science things.

CUT TO:

INT. LOBBY OF THE V.I.U. - MOMENTS LATER

HAYES is walking through the lobby of the V.I.U. He nods to agents as he passes, who all nod back.

HAYES walks over to DEX and LEE's office and leans against the door frame with his arms crossed.

DEX: Hey, could you print off my weekly coding report for me?

LEE: Yup.

HAYES (O.S): Fischer. Grant.

LEE looks up as DEX jerks in surprise and bangs his head on the edge of his desk. LEE winces as DEX looks up, rubbing his head.

LEE: Ooh, you okay man?

DEX: (sarcastic) Brilliant.

HAYES: I need you two to get ready for a mission.

DEX/LEE: Pardon?/You're joking.

HAYES: No. Is there a problem?

DEX/LEE: No./Yes.

DEX and LEE glance at each other as DEX stands up and sits down in his chair.

HAYES: What's the problem?

LEE: Sorry, but you want two, extremely inexperienced tech kids to go on a mission?

HAYES: Yes.

LEE: You crazy?

DEX: (overlapping Lee) I think Lee's just trying to say that we've never been on a mission before. We've never even been told any details about a mission before.

LEE: Unless something either really funny, stupid, or dangerous happened. So I guess that could count as a lot of details... but why are you dropping this on us now?

HAYES: Because I thought that you two could try something new for once.

LEE crosses her arms and leans back in her chair.

LEE: Really? Now?

DEX: After two years?

HAYES: Yes. Unless, you two have a problem with that?

DEX AND LEE: (sighing) No sir.

DEX stands up as LEE picks up her mug.
