As the days went by people started forgetting the incident with Dale and the tension slowly began to fade.

I was sitting with Hershel's daughter, Beth, helping Rick and Lori's son, Carl, with his math homework.

"The world is coming to an end, but you still have homework to do... Sucks, uh?" I kidded and both laughed in agreement.

Jake came to us and handed me some peaches "I saved the sweetest ones for you." he blinked and move on with a bucked full of fruit.

Beth smiled suggestively to me "So, are you and Jake togeth-"

"No, no, no!" I objected before she could finish the sentence.

"Oh! I thought you were a couple. You're always together."

"We grew up together; he's like a brother to me."

"He is totally cute though." She giggled.

We both laugh on the disgusted look Carl threw on us.

Yes, Jake could be cute... If you like abs, green eyes and blonde hair, he's the one you would go for.

The guys were preparing themselves to go on a supply run, and Daryl stopped by.

"You ladies need anything?" He asked looking to Beth.

"If you could get me a toothbrush would be great." I said anyway.

He didn't answer, so I assumed it was a huge "NO" in capital and neon letters.

They came back right before sundown, and I found a new pair of boots and the toothbrush I asked for.

"Hey!" I called for Daryl outside "How'd even knew I was a size 7?"

"I didn't. That was a courtesy of the prom king over there" He signed with his head to Jake "but I wouldn't be so thrilled, 'cos he also brought things for the other girls as well."

I smiled to myself and he stared at me with an odd look.

"He actually was the prom king in high school!"

"Were ya the queen?"

"I didn't even go to it. Too much stress over nothing." He looked over at me, and before he could leave I asked "Next time you go out for a run or something can I tag along?"

"Is your arm good?"

"Hershel took the stitches off the other day, and I can hardly feel it now."

"You know your way around guns?"

"I kinda do."

"Then I see no problem."

The following day I went on the supply run, as promised. In the car Rick gave me the handgun and the two knives he took from us the day of my rescue.

"Rick," Jake, who was sitting by my side, spoke out "Eve is the best knife thrower I've ever seen. It's crazy!"

Daryl turned his head to face me sitting in the back seat

"You told me you kind of knew your way around weapons!" he complained.

"He's just exaggerating. I hit one or two biters with a dagger once." I replied.

"No, I'm not!" Jake insisted "She's insane. You're going to see."

But before the discussion could go on, we arrived in a street full of little stores.
