1: All hail the nerds.

Start from the beginning

Everyone was yelling at Will either "Fire ball him!" Or "Cast protection!" Until Will finally exclaimed "FIRE BALL!"

Will threw the dice, and the dice rolled off the table and onto the basement floor.

Shit.

We all immediately stood up and started frantically searching for the dice.

"Where is it!?" Lucas shouted.

"I don't know!" I said loudly.

"Is it a 13?" Will asked.

"I said I don't know!" I yelled in frustration.

Dustin and I both started pacing back and forth, stressed out.

"Mike!!" A female voice shouted.

We all stopped what we were doing to see Mrs. Wheeler standing at the top of the basement stairs with her hands on her hips.

"Mom, were in the middle of a campaign!" Mike complained.

"You mean the end. Fifteen after!" She said tapping her imaginary watch.

Dustin started pacing again, as Mike ran upstairs, and Will and Lucas still couldn't find the dice.

I heard Mike yelling at his mom upstairs about something like "20 more minutes?" But she told him no, because it was a school night.

Right. School.

"I GOT IT! does the 7 count?" Will asked, showing Lucas and I the dice.

I walked over to him."It was a 7?"

"Did Mike see it?" Lucas questioned.

Will shook his head.

"Then it doesn't count!" Lucas and I confirmed in unison with victorious smiles.

"Anyone want this last slice of pizza?" Dustin asked.

"No!" Lucas and Will said, packing up their things.

"Mike said to give it to Nancy." I replied with a shrug.

"Okay! Come on then!" Dustin exclaimed, grabbing my arm and dragging me upstairs as I struggled to get my backpack on.

"Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, she's been acting pretty douchey lately." I said once we reached her door.

"Just let me work my magic." Dustin insisted with prideful smirk.

He knocked on the door, which was already open, where nancy was, talking on her baby blue phone about some boy while she twirled the cord around her fingers.

"Hey Nancy! Want the last slice? Pepperoni and sausage." Dustin asked her, flashing his cute smile.

Nancy walked up to us, gave Dustin a fake smile, and slammed the door in our faces.

"Wow, some magic you worked there." I joked, earning an eye roll and a smile from him.

Truth was, I had been crushing on him since we met him back in fourth grade, and even though it had been confirmed many times by many different people, I wasn't so convinced he would ever reciprocate my feelings.

Dustin and I walked outside, to find Will, Lucas and Mike waiting for us.

"There's something wrong with your sister." Dustin commented to Mike.

Mikes brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"She's got a stick up her butt." I finished for Dustin.

"She's been acting pretty douchey ever since she started dating that douchebag Steve Harrington." Lucas stated.

"She's always been douchey!" Mike argued.

"Not always. She used to be cool." I said.

"Yeah, like the time she dressed up as an elf for our Elder Free campaign." Dustin agreed.

"Four years ago!" Mike said.

"Just saying." Dustin shrugged.

I walked over to my bike. It was my favourite thing in the world. I loved that thing.

"Okay, bye Mike! You guys coming?" I asked, hopping onto my bike.

There was scattered agreement as the guys all got on their own bikes.

"Bye guys!" Mike yelled as we all peddled off.

"See you, Wheeler!" I shouted back, saluting the air even though I wasn't facing him.

"Bye, Lucas." I said as Lucas went into his driveway.

"Kiss your mom night for me." Dustin joked, earning a glare from Lucas and a laugh from me.

"Bye guys." Lucas replied.

"Race you home? Winner gets a comic." Dustin challenged.

"Any comic?" I asked, interested and intrigued.

"Yeah!" He confirmed.

"Okay, bye guys!" Will said, coming up behind us.

He must've stayed at Mike's for a minute.

"Bye!" Dustin and I said.

"Okay... Race you!" I said suddenly, peddling down the big hill that led to our houses.

"Hey!" Dustin yelled after me."I didn't say go! Get back here!!"

"I'm gonna kill you!" He yelled.

"I'll take your 'The Thing Trapped in the Arena of No Return!" I yelled at him as I biked into my driveway beside his.

"Son of a bitch!" He panted as he rode into his respective driveway.

"Alright cough it up in the morning and I'll give you five Vanilla wafers." I compromised.

"Fine. see you tomorrow" He said with a smile.

"Tomorrow." I agreed, smiling back at him.
