Once in a dream out in the countryside of an unknown place there was a long haired mid 40s man with a Pharaoh Hound German Shepherd mixed type dog and a young girl, assumed his daughter.
This was seen from the prospective of the dog.
Mid day, dog is in the front yard, man is working on his truck, and girl is on the porch swing, it is hot out, sand blowing lightly in the wind.
The dog jumps to his feet to the sound of something large in the brush, everything seemed to slow as a bear walks out into the yard, but this wasn't no normal bear, it was shaped like a very heavy built man, but looked like a grizzly, it walked like a man, just bent over like a hunch back or something.
Anyways, the dog moves forward with a snarl, bark, and ready to attack, even though this bear is over 8 feet tall. The man backs away before running to his daughter, as the man reaches the girl on the porch the dog leaps onto the bear and begins his attack, in desperate attempt to save his master, the dog rips at the bears neck, but is thrown to the ground.
The man and daughter hide in the house as the bear moves towards the front door. The dog gets up slowly and prepares for another attack, the bear turns around as the angry dog charges and leaps onto it, riping at it's neck.
Bear grabs the dog and rips the lower part of his left hand leg off and throws the dog to the ground, thinking that this will end the dog.
The bear reaches the porch, but turns around to the sound of snarling bark coming from the dog, who was back on his feet, and angrer than ever, the bear is surprised, and begins to walk onto the porch after the man and his daughter.
Then suddenly the dog is on the bears back, and doing damage to the back of it's head, biting down into it's skull.
Something happens, the dog and bear are both in the house, the man shoots the bear with a shotgun, but this does little and they run out the backdoor to a old yellow ford pickup truck, the dog close behind. The man jumps in the driver's seat as his daughter climbs to the passenger side, and begin to leave, the dog jumps in the bed of the truck at the last moment. Gravel, dirt, and sand are spun up as they speed away onto the main road, the bear is fast and chases, but becomes tired and is left far behind. It seems they have escaped, they have traveled over 10 miles since they lost the bear.
Then suddenly they run off the road after hitting something in the road, the truck flys over the bank, and the dog falls out of the bed, where he quickly dies.
The dog wakes up at night outside of a pet store. He is confused and worried and doesn't realize how he got here, or that he was dead. He isn't injured now, and begins running down the night road in desperate search of his humans, he finds a similar area like where they wrecked, but this didn't seem to be the place, he keeps searching, but never finds them.
