His phone rings from his pocket through his earpiece. And he pressed the button at the centre of the earpiece and answered the call.

"Hello, mommy. Good morning." He greeted.

Demilade ends the call with his mother and sighed. He saw a white lady in her joggers and sneakers in a sleeveless jersey jogging. She stopped to greet him. He usually meets her once in a while when she jogs in the morning sometimes with her cousins or her brother. They live in the same estate.

"Hi, Demmy." She greeted him in the familiar accent he had gotten used to. "Good morning."

"Morning Anika. How are you doing? It's been a while."

She chuckled. "Yeah. I had to go see my mom in London. What about you? Are you good? "

"Yes. Yeah, I'm fine."

"You are looking handsome as ever." She said with a sly smile on her face.

Demilade smirked. "Thanks. You are not bad yourself."

"Thanks." She said blushing.

"Okay. I will see you around. My greetings to your brother. It's been quite a while."

"He left for Abuja. He won't be back until early next year."

"That's a long time from now. But I wish him luck until we meet again."

"Thanks. I appreciate that."

"You're welcome. See you around."

"Okay. Bye." She said and she put her AirPod in her ear before flashing him a wide grin then she jogged away.

Demilade stepped into the cold house. The cold air from the air conditioner hit his wet and hot skin. Although, it was late October but the weather is still hot.

He heard loud laughter coming from somewhere inside the house and he knew it was from the dining room. He went in the direction of the dining room. He needs to see Lola. There was something he had to tell her. He knew she won't like it but she will have to do it anyway. And also, want to see her face.

When he got to the entrance to the dining room, he saw Lola eating and at the same listening to what Debbie was telling her. A broad smile was on her face as she listened attentively to her. Deborah was also focused on what was saying.

She said something else and both of them burst into a fit of laughter. Sometimes, he finds it amusing how both of them got to relate with each other like they've been friends forever. There wasn't any sort of boundaries between them. Lola was like an open book. She talks with anyone in any place.

He was still standing at the entrance to the dining when Lola caught him staring at her and the smile quickly fade away from her face. Deborah noticed and she turned in his direction. She quickly stands up and greeted him.

"Good morning sir." She greeted.

"Morning. Get me a bottle of water." He ordered and he entered the dining room fully. Deborah nodded and she went away to carry out her boss's order.

Demilade strode toward where Lola sat. She had resumed eating her food. He took a seat opposite her.

"Good morning." She greeted quietly as she took a bite of her toast bread.

He could tell something was off with her. Although, he never admits it but he kind of felt jealous of how she relates easily with other people but not him. She had this boundary with him. He doesn't know if it was because of their social strata or something else.

"Good morning. How was your night?" He asked. She looked up at him with surprise written all over her face. He wondered why she was surprised. He didn't say anything. He had not said what will really surprise her. And also probably get her mad.

Lola was shocked not because Demilade asked about her night but because for the first time since she had known him, he added the good in the greeting. So she was speechless.

"What? Did I say anything funny?" He asked staring at her with a bored expression.

"No." She replied. "My night was okay. And yours?"

"Better." He answered shortly.

Lola realized that he was back to answer with a word. So she didn't bother to say any more words.

Deborah brought the bottled water and a glass cup for Demilade and she left the two of them.

Lola watched as he poured himself water to drink. He gulp down all the water and poured himself another one. She guessed he was really thirsty because he finished almost all the water in the bottle. He uses the handkerchief on his shoulder to wipe his mouth.

Although he was looking better than the day before but he still need more sleep. There was still something odd about him. He hadn't had enough rest. She was still surprised that he could wake up to go for his morning exercise. If she was in his shoe, she would still be in her bed.

He seemed to notice she was watching him because he looked her way but he said nothing and she went back to her food when she realized that she had been caught ogling.

"There is something I have to tell you." He said.

"What?" She questioned looking at him shortly.

"My grandma wants to see you and she will be staying for two weeks."

"That is not a problem. Is it?" She asked. "This is your house and you don't need my permission."

"I know. But I need you to stay for one more week." He deadpans.

Demilade and trouble are five and six. Why will he ask her to stay for one more week? Well, we will know Lola's answer in the next chapter. Let's see what happens next.
