Chapter 35

"Yes, sir!"
We nod, more confident now that we were sure everyone was awake.

"This train has eight cars. I'll defend the back five! That yellow-haired boy and your sister will defend the last three. You two and the boar-head boy keep an eye on the last three and search for the demon's head."

"Its head?!"
I shout, confused.
"Rengoku-San, this demon is-!"

"No matter what shape he is, if he's a demon, he's got a head! I'll fight and search for it as well! Now you two hold your heads up high and get to it!"
He left in a fiery flash, leaving us to our own devices.

"He's amazing!"
Tanjiro nods with me.

"He made the decision so quickly! Five cars all by himself..."

I shake my head and get up.
"We don't have time to waste. Let's go, Tanjiro!"

"The smell's getting stronger."

We run through the cars, and I call out to Inosuke as loud as I can.
"Inosuke! Inosuke, where are you?!"

"Shut up or I'll kill you, M/N!"
His voice echoed out from above, running at the same speed as we were.

"You're up there?!"

"Mr. Big Eyes came and gave me orders! He's kinda amazing, and that pisses me off!"

I force open a door as Tanjiro informs Inosuke of what we have to do.
"We have to keep an eye on the three cars ahead of us!"

"I know!! I've found it already!!"

We run through, listening to Inosuke and defending ourselves.
"This demon's vital spot is up ahead!"

"Up ahead?! Really?!"
I slam open another door, and we walk through.

"The wind's too strong so the scent is too dispersed. But if Inosuke says so, he must be right, right?"

"He is! I can feel how the aura up ahead is way heavier than before! Near the coal, right?!"

"Right!"
Inosuke shouts.

"Got it! Tanjiro, let's go!"

Rengoku-San's covering five cars by himself.
Nezuko and Zenitsu have the other three.
Inosuke, Tanjiro and I have to be useful as well.

Tanjiro got out the window, helping me out and up on the roof as well.
We meet up with Inosuke, who broke through the roof of the car, the chunks of fleshy metal almost hitting us in the face.

"Inosuke!"
I shout, noticing the roof begin to regenerate slowly.

I could hear the person inside yell at Inosuke to leave, but he was met with no answer.
"The demon's neck... Its vital spot!"

I heard his sword clash with the metal, only for a burst of fleshy hands to emerge instantly.
Ignoring Tanjiro who shouted at me to stop, I rush forward to try and help Inosuke.

"Sky Breathing : First Form! Bursting Rays!"
My sword glowed so bright it nearly blinded me, and I managed to free him of the demon, slashing in every direction without harming him.
