Chapter 35

Tanjiro breathed deeply, calling out with all his strength.
"Rengoku-San! Inosuke! Zenitsu! Stop sleeping! Wake up, please wake up!"

We ran down the train, noticing a part of the roof begin to break.
Eventually, it broke, and Inosuke burst out from the hole, wide-awake and ready for battle.
"You! Come with me!"
He landed heavily on the train, his strength denting it slightly.

"Explosive Awakening! Lord Inosuke's comin' through!"

I do my best to quickly fill him in.
"Inosuke! We have to protect those still asleep! No single place on this train is safe!"

"You were right! The whole train's a demon!"
Tanjiro adds, and Inosuke drops down into the carriage below.

We rush over to see if he needs our help, noticing how the inside was covered in flesh.
"Beast Breathing : Fifth Fang! Crazy Cutting!"

Inosuke slashed every part of the monster with incredible speed.
"I'll save all of you! You'll all bow to me as thanks! Lord Inosuke's coming through!"

I look at Tanjiro.
"Let's get moving. We should defend as many people as we can. Inosuke can handle these ones, let's move ahead."

He nods, but before we even move, the train turns nearly entirely to flesh, the curve of the rails almost causing it to collapse on its side. Hideous limbs attempt to grab us, and Tanjiro quickly grabs me and shatters the window, allowing us safe passage inside.

Inside seemed no better as flesh covered nearly every surface and we had no choice but to fight.
"Tanjiro! I'll cover the other carriage! Is that ok?"

He nods, and I rush through the opposite door.
"Water Breathing : Fourth Form! Striking Tide!"
No matter how much I fought, the flesh simply regenerated somewhere else and went after me again.
One of them hit me with enough force to knock me back and into Tanjiro, the two of us losing our footing and nearly getting struck. He helped me up quickly and we wasted no time in fighting again.

The train suddenly shook with a loud roar a few carriages away.
"Lightning! Tanjiro, did you hear it?!"

He nods, still fighting.
"Zenitsu must've woken up!"

"What about Rengoku-San?! Or Nezuko?!"
We do our best to protect the people in the cars closest to us, but it's growing harder and harder.

It's so cramped in here! I can barely swing my katana without striking close to a person! This is bad. This is really bad. We all have to work together!
Rengoku-San, please be awake...

At one point, the train shook and made us fall.
"Demon attack?!"

A sudden burst of fire came our way, and I noticed the bright gold and red hair of a familiar face.
"Kamado! L/N!"

"Rengoku-San!"
We both shout, thankful that he's awake.

"Is this what happened while I was asleep? Unbelievable!"
He struck a piece of flesh that tried to grab me.
"Some Hashira I am! If there were a hole, I'd hide in it!"

He knelt down to our height.
"I used a flurry of attacks to slow down the demon's regeneration, but there's no time to spare, so let me make a long story short."
