After encountering a peculiar boy and his demon sister, they jo...
Tanjiro seemed equally furious, running side by side with me. "How dare you insult my family?!"
Our blades met his throat, one on either side, cutting through with the force of our combined attacks. His head flew off and away, his empty body now collapsing limp to the ground. Even so, it didn't feel as if my blade even struck. Am I still dreaming?
I turn to look at Tanjiro, catching my breath slowly. He seems to tell me exactly what I think with just his eyes, and we stare in silence.
"Master said :" "Kill the Hashira, the boy with hanafuda earrings and the airbender girl..." "Master's mood at that time..."
His head melted onto the train, growing into a disgusting, fleshy tower of tumors, his head at the very top, catching me and Tanjiro off-guard.

"I understand exactly what he felt now!" He was nothing short of euphoric, staring us down. "So long as you two exist, the very fact alone stirs fury in the hearts of many!"
"H-He isn't dead!" I shout, Tanjiro's expression contorted into pure disgust.
"There it is! That expression... It's amazing!" He brought his fleshy neck lower to taunt us.
" "We clearly cut off his head, so why didn't die?" Do you want to know the reason?" He grinned. "It's simple, it's very simple! My original body is long gone, this one is talking to you now. And although it has the shape of a head, it is not the real one. While you two were sleeping peacefully, I merged with this train! Everything about this train is my body! My flesh! My very bones!"
I felt my stomach turn upside down, still in disbelief. "More than two hundred passengers aboard this train have become the very food that strengthens my body! They've all become my hostages." He lowered his head my way, smiling. "Can you protect them? Can you save them all? How would you feel about handing them all over to me?"
Without a moment of hesitance I try and slash at him, but he drew back and the fight resumed once more only to finish in a second. He melted back into the roof of the train, leaving us alone.
"What do we do? What do we do?!" I ask Tanjiro, panicking. He seems just as scared, and we stand to think as quickly as we can.
"There's two hundred people in this train! Rengoku-San probably hasn't woken up yet, either!
"We can only protect up to two carriages at most each!" I stare down the train, looking over its long body. "No amount of strength we use is enough to protect everyone."
