Chapter Six - The talk

Katniss's POV-
I walk into the lobby and say thank you to the receptionist and walk out.

I run to the train station and get on the train. I don't even know where the train is going, but as long as its going away from here.

I hear Peeta calling my name on the train. I was hiding in the bathroom, I couldn't believe this. I'm not ready to be a mother. I dont know if I'll ever be ready for kids.

I hear a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I ask wiping away my tears. "Katniss, It's Peeta. Open up please" I stand up and walk to unlock the door. I open the door and Peeta stands there looking at me sympathetically.

"I don't know if I'm ready to be a mom Peeta." I say between sobs. "Oh Katniss." Peeta says walking towards me, embracing me in a hug. "It's okay. We'll figure it out." Peeta whispers. I pull away from Peeta and look him in his beautiful crystal blue eyes, and say, "I don't think I even want to keep this baby." I look down as soon as I say it. There is a few seconds before Peeta lifts up my chin so I have to look at him, and he says, "Okay. We can look into abortion." I look at Peeta in shock. I can't believe he's being so understanding.

He wants kids so bad. He's given me everything so why can't I give him this small little thing? Then I realize it isn't a small little thing. This is a human being we'd be bringing into this world. A human being that will grow older everyday, every year. I don't know if I'm ready for that. But I need to be. For Peeta. I shake my head no and say, "We'll figure this out together. As long as I have you I'll be okay. Do I have you?" I look into Peeta's eyes as he says, "Always." I smile and we walk out of the bathroom. "Do you even know where this train is going?" Peeta asks me. "No." I laugh. We sit down and wait for the train to come to a stop.

A/N; sorry for the short chapter. I just thought it should end here and continue in another chapter. I felt like it finished its purpose for this chapter.
