"Days like this are considered signs " said Dave as we walked down ariel street "what do you mean " I replied only because it would be rude to leave him hanging "well first me and my wife had a pretty heated fight this morning and then to top it all of after a month we finally have a case " after a month we finally have a case, just the way he says it makes it sound like we never have cases "I mean I would have been overjoyed any other day but the one day I want to relax ....boom a missing person " I still didn't really care what he was saying but still I answered saying "so what exactly is it a sign of " "that I should go to church" he said
and after that complete silence just the way I like it but really I wonder what was it about this case that makes seargeant feel the need to assing us whatever it is must be serious me and Dave are pretty elite at the station and on top of that we're part of a small town we pretty much never get jobs it was these thoughts that made me oblivious to the fact that we were at the wharehouse our final destination it was Dave who snapped me out of my thoughts "yo aljay wake up " he said as he snapped his fingers in my face "uh" I jumped like a fool "we're here he said " I took a look around for someone "boys !" I heard someone yell I spun around looking for the owner of the voice and found seargeant running towards us atleast that's what I thought until he ran straight past Dave like he wasn't even there aljay he said giving me a hug, "so...... who is this " he said motioning to dave "my partner " I said confused "no,no,no, he said you're partner hasn't arrived yet so please be kind enough to escort this gentleman away " at this point I was scratching my head but I would never disobey the seargeant so I turned to dave and said to him "uh.......dave go " as if I was commanding a dog and dave scampered off only anchoring the thought in my mind "so" said seargeant "are you ready for a mystery"
"Always ready " I said "good cause some kidnappings have been happening and your needed " my hand rubbed against each other "so I hear I'm getting a new partner when does he get here "
"He ..."
"huh "
"He he's a he not a she " sergeant said well that was unexpected "Oh well then I guess I'll just... wait for her "
"no need " a voice rang out behind me
"Lillian your here " my sergeant shouted
I looked behind me to see lillian smiling at me "you ready to go " she said "where " I asked "warehouse " she said her grin expanding "real scary warehouse ..."
