Duncan Vellton

HE GAVE up hope when his parents died. He woulds always sit at home and read books about mages and what not. He was always interested in magic, but he knew he didn't have one source of magic power. Not every one had magic in Earth Land, but many did have it. Today, this young boy would be going to town. He liked going around the town shops, but he liked going to the one and only magic shop in town.

The boy was located and lived in the town of Hargeon. He was also at the age of seventeen. He disliked the fact he had no magic, but he grew to live to the fact. The boy sat up in bed, the sheets falling to his waist. His bare torso showed off, and his face looked fallen. He moved his hand to his face and rubbed his eyes. They had bags under them in all tiredness.

"What time is it . . . ? Two-forty!? I need to get to the Magic Shop!" the boy yelled. He scrambled out of the bed and past his feline friend, who in the fact was still sleeping. He grabbed his black muscle shirt and put it on. He grabbed his black and red vest and slid it on. He grabbed his navy green pants and put them on also. He grabbed a come and brushed his mess of a hair out and back into its normal style. "Tommy, get up! We told the old pervert at the magic shop we'd help him out with stocking some items he got shipped in! He said he'll give of some jewel after we helped out!"

"I'm up!" Tommy cheered and flew over to the boy and sat in his black hair. "How much jewel do you think the old man's going to give us, Duncan?"

The boy; Duncan thought for a moment. He was thinking about a hundred and fifty or two hundred jewel. "About two hundred in the least. . ."

"Two hundred? Well, he is a cheap man," Tommy sighed. His ears flatted to his white and grey furry head.

"True, but we get payed. Maybe if it's enough we can buy some Lotus's for Granny," smiled Duncan in a calm voice.

"Hopefully we will!"

Duncan, with Tommy on his shoulder, left his small apartment. He ran down the short flight of stares and off onto the street. He ran down the stoned street until he got near the shop. He slowed down and entered the store.

"Ah, Duncan! Can you put some of these ColorS Magics on the racks. It's gotten popular among the female mages!" the store owner said pointing towards a box on the bar.

"Sure, Gramps! Tommy, get the box for me and then help me put them on the rack. Got it, Buddy?" Duncan smiled.

Tommy flew and grabbed the box and flew back to Duncan who grabbed the box from his friends paws and started placing them on the sale racks. He was putting the last one on when a young girl with blonde hair came in. He grabbed the box, and folded it. He would use it for his small fire-pit in his house.

Duncan stood up and walked to the old man and over heard the girl requesting Gate Keys. "A Celestial Wizard? That's new . . ." he muttered.

"Oh wow! The Little Doggy!" the girl squealed.

"Yes, but that one's not that powerful," the old man told her.

"Yeah, but I really want it! So how much?" the girl asked.

"Twenty thousand jewel! Right, Gramps?" Duncan said appearing next to the girl, who's face showed the sign of horror.

"Twenty thousand jewel!? Awe, come on how much was it really?" the girl asked. She was being seducing (trying) the hold man to lower the price.

The old man blushed and took off only a thousand jewel.

"Hey, Gramps. That's a bit expensive for a Gate Key. Plus, I know from reading books that since they're popular also they don't go for that much. It's suppose to be arround two thousand jewel, not nineteen thousand," Duncan explained picking up the Gate Key.

"Really? Well, I am trying to do my job, and I'm sure you want to get payed, Duncan," the old man said.

"Yeah, but the girl's a Celestial Mage! You hardly see any these days! I do need the money, but you're trying to scandal the poor girl!"

"I am not. I'm fairly doing my job. If you have a problem, than so kindly leave!"

"Gramps-"

"Don't you Gramps me, Duncan! Leave. Now!"

"Fine, you prick."

Duncan walked out the shop with Tommy behind him. He stomped on the bridge and paused and walked to the edge to look at the town.

"I can't believe he only knocked off a thousand jewel! That stubborn old man!" the familiar voice of the girl from the shop rang out in Duncan's ears.

"Hey! Blonde girl!" Duncan yelled racing beside her. The girl stopped walking fast and looked at Duncan.

"Hey! I know you! You're from the magic shop!" the girl said smiling.

"Yeah, I suppose. I'm sorry about him. I read up on mages a lot, but I try to tell him to lower the prices since we don't have many mages in the town. I wish I could give you money that you spent unfairly, but I don't have any jewel on me. I was going to buy flowers with the money I would've earned today. However, it's not a big deal!" Duncan smiled. He frowned when he heard girls screaming about Salamander.

"Want to check it out?" the girl asked.

"Sure! I'm Duncan Vellton. This is my friend Tommy!" he introduced.

"I'm Lucy!" the girl smiled.

The two of them smiled at each other and ran down to see the crowd of females. They pushed through, and stopped and saw a man. Duncan sweat dropped. He looked at Lucy, who was blushing like an idiot.

"Igneel! Igneel, it's me!" a voice erupted. A male with pink hair feel to the crowd. He frowned with a bored expression. "Who're you?"

Duncan chuckled lightly at the guy's expression. He turned to Lucy, "Hey. It was nice meeting you. I have to get going. See you around!"

"Oh okay! Bye, Duncan!" Lucy waved.

Duncan ran off to the beach and sat down. He looked at the water. Tommy flew beside him and laid down. "I wish I was a mage. More cooler, a Wind Dragon Slayer! That'd be so cool! I wonder if I could do any magic!"

"I can't say, Duncan. You still have amnesia, but you could still be able to have magic power. Be wise, and let your memories flow back to you," Tommy sighed.

Duncan looked at the grainy sand. He looked back towards the ocean. The sun had been set already. He saw a boat in the distance. He suddenly got sick just by looking at it.

"Dear lord!" Duncan mumbled covering his mouth with a sudden sense of motion sickness.
