Fireflies flew around one single female in the forest leading to the small cabin she lived inside. It was dark, muddy, slippery, and scary. The girl wasn't having it as she watched the fireflies lead her home, calmly and hesitantly following them. She was afraid that the fireflies would make her more lost as she carried the bag full of fruits, vegetables, meat, and some candy she happened to pick up on the way home from the store.

She wasn't the biggest fan of insects, but if they were friendly and non-harmful to her, she would happily follow them. All of a sudden right in front of her was her cabin, the fireflies happily flying around her cabin, lighting up the surroundings around her cabin. The girl laughed gently as they made shadows of cute animals that followed her inside her cabin.

She felt safe, comfortable, and at home now that she was at her cabin, and decided to watch the fireflies through the window of her home, smiling and laughing at the little show they put on for her to light up her night. Slowly, as it got darker, the more tired that the girl got. So she went to bed after the show that the fireflies put on.

The girl was yet again stuck in the same situation the next day, causing her to get lost, but the fireflies helped her. Again, and again, and again, and again. But one day the fireflies stopped appearing, they stopped helping her, and that was because it was getting colder, and darker, and she was more unsure on why she was living in the scary forest. So she decided to move, and ended up forgetting her life in the cabin in the forest.

One night, fireflies appeared in her yard like they used to before it got cold. But she was confused. How come they had come back just now? Of course, she didn't mind it but she was afraid of losing them again.

She went out with a few of her friends, but they were parted from each other due to the awful traffic that night. The girl was scared, but the fireflies led her home like they always did. She knew that she could count on them so she put small markings and arrows to where it led her home so she didn't forget.

The last memory she had was when she was back in the forest. The dark, muddy, scary, forest where fireflies let her home. The girl smiling, laughing, and following the fireflies like nothing had happened, like nothing ever changed.

Moral of the story: There will always be a light or a person which is driving you to carry on through tough times, and when that light or person fades, it's time for you to go.
