School resumption for a whole new semester could be hectic at times. With the congested Lagos streets, it was really stressful.  Cars honking from every corner.

" This Lagos traffic jam, it is only God that will help us,  " uncle Efe turned off his engine . No vehicle could move. "From Delta State to Port Harcourt to Lagos. Is it the too many potholes in P.H or the traffic jam in Lagos here," Uncle Efe added.  He expected Fega to say something in addition,  but she didn't.  She was completely lost in her thoughts .

"Fega!" He called her name snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Yeah," she replied absent-mindly twisting  with her braids . She didn't even look at him.

Before Uncle Efe could say a word, a man who had his car parked right beside his started complaining about the traffic. Just what Uncle Efe needed.

"I am telling you, the government is doing nothing about this," Uncle Efe joined.

Thank God for Fega, she didn't really felt like sharing her thoughts to anyone right now.

The man and Uncle Efe talked for a while till a boy approached them ,asking both of the men if they wanted to buy plantain chips (pekere) from him.

With a single wave form bothe men, the boy left, but came back again. This time he asked for the time on Uncle Efe's wristwatch .

Fega watched the boy through the closed black tinted windows. It wasn't really clear, but she could still see him and he couldn't see her at all. Fega noticed he was wearing a uniform under his sweater. It looked like a Shae Secondary School uniform.  Fega wasn't too sure. She had not seen his face in her school before.

Uncle Efe told he boy the time, just then, someone called out for him.

"Ola! Ola! Olamide!" . A girl, a little girl.

"I'm coming, " with that Ola was gone.

Luckily for Fega, she arrived at school quite early. Early enough to sit down for a 3 minutes talk from her uncle.

"Fega, I hope you understand what I am trying to say,"

"why are you blaming it all on me?" Fega asked.

"I'm just telling you to work harder. You are repeating SS2 and it is only if you work harder you can pass to the next class,"

"I only failed because I'd no interest in science subjects," Fega protested . She continued, "can I  just switch  classes?"

"for the last time Fega, no, you can't  switch classes.  Science class is as easy as Art class, " Uncle Efe stated firmly

"but that is not where my interest is at,"

"oh, now it is not. Since you were in JSS1, you have always loved Science subjects , but now you failed _______you aren't interested anymore,"

"it is okay.  I really thought moving here with you will be better than staying in Delta, but it is not. Fact! " Fega swung herself out of the car  and shut the door so harshly that Uncle Efe was afraid the windows may shatter .

Fega couldn't just stand her uncle right now.

"Smart boy. I still can't believe you got the scholarship ," Damola hailed Ola as a smart boy. Shae Secondary School did  scholarship exams . Shae Secondary school, one of the intelligent schools in town and another thing was that it was expensive. Fortunately , Ola was introduced to the exam and he passed with flying colours,  then gained admission into Shae Secondary School.
