I woke up. However, I felt as though I could not breathe. I looked around. Tall grass, wild flowers, crickets chirping. I recognized a lighthouse. Like the one I had seen on the island I was swimming to... Had I gone mental? I had not even remembered reaching the island. I got up and dusted the dirt off of my jeans.

I traveled west - away from the lighthouse. I had only been walking I would say, 5 minutes when I found a river. I washed my face and hands in the river. I got up and looked around to see a boy, around my age [12], with raccoon-like rings around his eyes staring at me. "I haven't seen you around here. Who are you?" He interrogated, with a cold, hard expression on his face. "I'm Niamh O'Neill. What is this place?" "You mean you really do not know?" He asked with a confused look on his face. I didn't answer. Obviously, I didn't know. "Very strange. I will have to consult Miss Peregrine about this before I decide if I should tell you. Come with me." He said. Before I could say anything, he took my hand and we walked down a very long trail until we reached an unusually large house.
