I ignored the kids on the other side of the road as I continued my journey of walking home

"Hey freak." One of the kids said pushing me making me lose my footing and fall

"Haha, hey guys look at this loser!" The same kid that pushed me said motions his friends over As I tried to pick up my books that had fallen out of my bag

"Where you going freak?"

'The nerve of these kids.' Ida said making me suppress a laugh

"What you laughing at freak?" One said as they started to kick me in my stomach

'Fight back!" Ida growled

"I can't." I grunted holding back the tears

"Who're you talking to?" One said pulling me by my braids as the other continued to kick me

"Guys I think she's had enough." One said making them let me go.

I stayed in a fetal position until they were out of my sight

I got up not worrying about my books and book bag that was scattered all over the road and side walk

'Where are those damned Adults when you need them' Ida grunted as i held my stomach in pain while tears streamed down my face

I paid no attention to what the voice inside me had to say as I made my way home.
