|8| Didn't Expect You To Love Me Anyways

Katsuki started to wheeze out of laughter when they heard the teacher go "I swear, Mic drugged my coffee.". The champagne blonde boy turned back around to the shorter greenette, tears of laughter in the corners of his eyes. "But in all seriousness. The old hag wanted to invite you and Inko over for dinner tonight, she hasn't seen Auntie in forever. Can't seem to get ahold of her phone neither."

Izuku's eyes widened, tears beginning to pool in them as he stood up and motioned for the spiky haired blonde to follow him into the hallway. Katsuki stood up as well, confused in the sudden change of mood. Hadn't they just been laughing and smiling just a minute ago, finally fixing things? Finally becoming friends again? He followed Izuku into the hallway and leaned against the wall, hands shoved into his pockets.

And Izuku told him. He told him that his mother was suffering from depression and anxiety, and had committed suicide by overdose. He told him about his jobs, which he had gotten to help his mother. He told him that he lied about visiting Siomachi, that he was actually living with her because of Inko's will stating she was the only living relative. He nearly broke down several times, but managed to get through it all. When he was done, Izuku wiped at his teary eyes as Katsuki stood there in disbelief. Luckily, no one else had walked down the hallway.

Katsuki finally composed himself and walked up to the greenette. Izuku flinched, scared that the blonde would blame him as well. Instead, the aggressive boy pulled him into a tight bear hug, buying his face into the green curls. Izuku froze in shock before burying his face into the taller boy's neck. Katsuki pulled away after a few moments and held his shoulders an arm's length away. "Deku...." Katsuki paused, as if trying to think over his next words.

"This is gonna sound fake as fuck, but I- I'm sorry, Izuku. Sorry that you have to deal with that, especially after what that bastard did to you. So, what do you want me to tell the others? Say I don't know anything, go along with what you do?" The freckled teen looked at the boy in disbelief, not being able to register that Katsuki really did care, and was trying to help him through it all. He listlessly nodded, not really confirming anything.

"Alright then. And... I know how your grandmother can be. If she ever hurts you, you tell me, got that De- Izuku?" Again, Izuku stared in disbelief, and a little bit of guilt. He looked down to the side and played with his fingers.

"Well, you see..."

"I'm going to kill her. Don't care if you don't want me to, I'm doing it. I'm not having another person abuse my childhood friend." Izuku stopped the boy's rant, holding up his hands. Katsuki gave an irritated huff and glared.

'My childhood friend.'

"Kacchan, it's fine. Yeah, she's horrible and blames me for mom's death and actually hurt me alot yesterday and made me cover it up with makeup-"

"She what?!"

"-but I don't plan on staying. All I have to do is stay out of her way for a few months until I get enough money to run away and buy an apartment or something. She's just my cover up since I can't attend UA without a legal guardian and adress. Okay, Kacchan? I'll be out of that house before you know it." Izuku stared up at Katsuki imploringly, begging him to let Izuku do this.

"Izuku, you know I can't just let you stay in a house like that, especially after your dad! Either you tell someone, or I do." Katsuki stubbornly crossed his arms and looked down at Izuku. The greenette glared back defiantly.
