Apparently having her daughter say Izuku would live with her if Inko died and it being the (technical) law for Izuku to stay there made Siomachi not let him just skip out the door. Even if she ignored him unless he made a mistake.
It was currently a sunny Monday, the sky bright blue and the clouds were pure white. Birds flitted about through the trees and beams of sunlight poured through the windows of the classroom, warming it up. It was only a few minutes before class started and most of the class was already at their desks or standing in groups talking. The teacher sat at his desk and sipped coffee, not caring what the students were doing. Kirishima and Kaminari were attempting to hold a conversation with Katsuki, but the forever angry blonde couldn't care less.
Katsuki repeatedly switched from looking at the desk directly behind him and the window he sat at, staring down at the courtyard. He didn't see a single sign of his childhood best friend. Not a single sign of fluffy green and black hair, nor the sparkling emerald eyes that glowed right along with a bright smile that lit up the room. Not a single sign of four freckles in a diamond pattern on each cheek. Nor did he hear the ding of a text from Izuku telling him that the greenette would be late. Nothing.
Katsuki's worries only grew when the bell rang as everyone rushed to their seats, Aizawa taking up roll call. Katsuki tapped his foot impatiently, biting the inside of his cheek. Where is he? He would've at least texted me...
Aizawa skipped over Izuku's name when he saw the boy wasn't at class, making the rest of the class turn their heads to Izuku's seat. Never in the history of class 1-A or class 2-A had the boy ever been tardy, much less absent, and they all knew it. Katsuki impatiently tapped his nail against the phone in his pocket, not bothering to leave it on silent or vibrate. Almost halfway through class, Katsuki's phone dinged.
The teacher glared at Bakugou as the entire class turned to look at him. Iida seemed to be about to scold Bakugou, but the champagne blonde boy stood up and walked to the door.
"Bakugou, where are you going?" Aizawa asked as Katsuki walked to the door.
"It's my mom. Probably something important if she's texting me in the middle of class. It'll take five minutes, so can I just go?" Bakugou glared in return, tapping his foot impatiently, his nerves blowing out of proportions. He knew it wasn't the old hag, she barely texted him at all, choosing to call instead. It was Izuku, and he really needed to respond.
Aizawa sighed and shooed him off. "Five minutes. If you take any longer, you're on cleaning duty at the dorms, got it?" Katsuki grunted in reply and slid out of the classroom, immediately pulling out his phone and looking at the two texts he had received.
Kacchan, help, it's grandmother.
Kacchan, please, I think I'm going into a panic attack!
Katsuki's eyes widened and he sprinted to the bathroom, his own breath quickening. Screw five minutes, I'll take an hour if he needs it. Katsuki locked the door and laid down to the floor, calling Izuku. The first time he didn't pick up, and Katsuki felt tears start to form. He rubbed them away and called again. This time Izuku answered, and Katsuki almost sobbed in relief.
"Ka- Kacchan? Is that you? It's you, right?" The boy's voice was shaky, almost desperate. Katsuki carded a hand through his spiky hair.
"Yeah, it's me 'Zuku. What happened? What'd she do?" Katsuki made sure to keep his voice level, not letting himself give Izuku more reason to worry. Izuku gave a muffled sob on the other end and Katsuki stiffened when he heard a crash from his phone. "Izuku... where are you? What's going on?" Katsuki cursed himself as he heard panic creeping into his own voice.
