"Hey! Deku-kun, wait up!" Uraraka called after Midoriya as he sped out of the school. He quickly backtracked towards Uraraka and Iida, the former of which was excitedly waving at him. He walked over to them, a bit jittery as he really needed to get going. "What's up, Uraraka-chan? I uh, really need to go, so um, if I could talk to you later?"

Uraraka pouted. "Aw, come on, Deku! You never hang out with us anymore!" "I also have some concerns, Midoriya." Iida interjected. "You just suddenly dropped out of the dormitory systems with no warning! The dormitory system is to keep us safe, so I hope there is a good reason for you to start living at home again. Last I heard, your mother was fine with you living at the UA dormitories?" Iida said, chopping his hands all the while, not unlike a robot's.

"Ah! Uh, it's fine guys!" No it's not. "My mom is just.... uh.....feeling a bit overworked! Yeah, that's it! Anyway, it's fine!" Please don't believe me. Out of no where, Kirishima popped out behind Iida and Uraraka, followed by a certain pink haired/skinned girl, and a yellow haired male. "I agree with Iida, Midobro! Although, uh, in simpler words. I mean, don't get me wrong! It's super manly you wanna help your mom out, bro!" At this, Kirishima beat his fist together, creating a small spark with his quirk. "It's just gotten a bit duller around the dorms since you left, is all!" Mina and Kaminari both let lose a small chorus of 'Yeahs!' And 'He's right!'

Ack! What to say to that?! I don't have time to explain, I've got to go or I'll be late! If I don't leave now I'm gonna be late and I could get in trouble and then my other bosses would find out and I could get fired and then my teachers would find out and I'd get expelled and I'd never become a real hero and I'd have to work at some dingy McDonald's for the rest of my life-

"-oriya! You're muttering again dude! Something about 'fire'? You okay?" Kaminari exclaimed, waving his hands in Midoriya's face, Mina standing beside him with a somewhat amused expression. Midoriya looked up, realizing that he had been muttering. Again. He really needed to cut that habit, it was going to get him in trouble someday. "O-oh. Sorry, guys! I didn't realize I was muttering, heh." Iida simply straightened his glasses before speaking again. "It's really not a big deal, Midoriya, we just want to make sure you're okay! You know that if anything is wrong, you can always talk to us, it's very beneficial to confide in others, after all!" Everyone nodded along to Iida's proclamation. "Although, you seemed like you were in a rush, so we won't keep you here any longer."

Izuku looked down at his watch. What?! Already 3:00?! I'll be late if I stay here any longer! "Ah! You're right Iida! Bye guys, talk to you tomorrow!" And yet again, the jade eyed boy sped off out the school campus, waving behind him with a big, absolutely fake smile on his face, mentally preparing himself for another long, tiring day. 3 shifts, all in the same day...... didn't Kaichi say something about a birthday party reservation? I swear if I get stuck catering to twelve sheltered brats, I. Will. SCREAM.

Midoriya really wanted to scream. Serves him right for thinking it would be a good day at work. He sighed. How'd I even get in this mess? My biggest worried should be tests and figuring out how to control my quirk, not paying bills. Yet that was exactly where he was. It was a really long story, one that dated back to when the teen was only four years old. His father had recently left after finding out his child was quirkless, and Inko was naturally heartbroken.

'Like I'd stick around after finding out that the kid YOU made is completely useless, you worthless b**ch!!!'

It only got worse when she found that her child was being bullied by his classmates because they all had something the greenette didn't.

'Mama..... Kacchan and the others starting hitting me.... did I do something wrong? Is it the same reason Papa left?'

At the time, Inko didn't even have a job, Hisashi was the provider. Inko was stuck, and not knowing how to fix it without troubling others, she started drinking, thinking it would help. She got addicted. Inko never hurt Izuku, she loved her son too much, even though she could have easily blamed the boy for her problems.

'Mom? You're acting weird... are you okay? Should I call Auntie?'

Bills started stacking up, and Inko could never find a stable job. Her child was working too hard to keep up his smile and hiding the shallow scars that graced his wrist to notice how hurt his mother was.

'You okay, mom?'

'Fine, sweetheart.'

'Okay....' Izuku scratched at his wrist.

But things were getting better. Izuku got into UA, his dream school. Inko went into rehabilitation, she stopped drinking, went back to school. The woman got a degree in law, and became a lawyer, working on bigger cases as time went on. She was in place to get a promotion around the time the dormitory system was established.

'I got into UA, mom!'

'A promotion! All I have to do is win this case!'

Then Izuku was sent to live in the dorms. Things went downhill again. Her child was never home anymore, and she rarely heard from him. Inko became depressed. She feared her son would leave her too, and the anxiety was eating her up. She was terminated from the case when she couldn't pull herself together. Bills were stuffed into drawers. Her son wasn't around to notice, and, when she saw her child on T.V, fighting that monster Overhaul with a small girl tied to his back, she lost it.

It was practically insanity, all her feelings had become too much. Her husband leaving her, her son being bullied, losing the chance to finally live in comfort without worrying if she could afford dinner for the rest of the month, the fear that her child was dead and she had been left behind. The anxiety, the overwhelming thoughts, the sudden urge, need to drink again. But she couldn't. She couldn't relapse again. So she did the next thing her traumatized brain told her to. She wasn't thinking straight. It was like she was in a trance, watching herself from the outside, knowing what she was doing was wrong but not being able to stop it.

She went to the cleaning closet.

She opened a jug.

She drank the disgusting pure white liquid.

Inko Midoriya passed out onto the floor, unconsious.

Hello! This is the beeeoootiful Author! I decided to leave you on a cliffhanger. Haha. Not really a cliffhanger though, cause the next chapter is probably already out. I'm really sorry if this is poorly written, I wrote this chapter in one day. Please tell tell me if you're confused or if I made any mistakes. I know I kind've went into a really long monologue toward the end, but I wanted to clarify some things without interrupting. You might still be confused. That's the point. Hahaha! Just to clarify, Inko never hurt Izuku when she was drunk. She sent him to his room, and he went to sleep. I refuse to make her abusive in this, cause I'm about to do something so horrible. In case you're confused, when it said it was like she went insane, it's like when Rei burnt Todoroki's face. So yeah. Also, toxic ex-husband, hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Did i space out the lines correctly? Also also, the chapter title is also the title of whatever song I'm using. I might not always use a song, so there's that. I used Overwhelmed because that's kind've what happened with Inko. My parents are going to be reading this when it's actually published. Dear god. Save me. I edited this a lot. Like, a lot, a lot. Remember that the last bit was in the past, before all of this takes place. It was meant to tell you how Izuku got where he is now. Anyhow, adios, my guys, gals, and nonbinary pals!
