Mikey felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach. Could the Gerard he’s talking about be the one that I’m looking for?

Mikey whimpered softly and ducked under the police tape that had been set up around the crime scene and looked around and tried to locate where the two bodies were. He gasped as he glimpsed one of the bodies, it was laying face up in the ditch.

Tears sprung into Mikey’s eyes as he stared at the dead body of his long time best friend Frank Iero, confusion mixed in with his already unstable mind made him fall to his knees and start sobbing.

You see the childhood friend that Mikey had seen die was Frankie, and well seeing him grown up and dead in the ditch in front of him made everything that he believed to be reality mixed up and had caused Mikey’s mind to snap.

Mikey had attracted the attention of some near by officers and they came to see what the problem was and why there was a random citizen contaminating the crime scene.

“What seems to be the problem?”

One of the officers knelt down and assessed Mikey’s situation. He deemed that Mikey was not an immediate threat so he sent the other two officers away so that they wouldn’t make Mikey more traumatized.

The officer helped Mikey up and over to a nearby police car.

“What are you doing all the way out here Mikey? You should be at home...”

Mikey whimpered and stared off into the distance, he whimpered and looked the Officer in the eyes, but you could tell that his mind was somewhere else as he spoke.

“He was supposed to be dead..”

The Officer took that as a bad sign and told Mikey to get up and then the Officer proceeded to handcuff Mikey and sit him the right way in the Police vehicle. The Officer walked over to the other Officers.

“I have a suspect in the back of my car.. Will you guys be okay to take care of the scene if I take him in for questioning?’’

The other Officers all nodded and with that the Officer walked back to the patrol car and got in.

“Why am I handcuffed?’’ Whimpered Mikey.

The Officer started his car and began driving back to the city. The car stayed silent most of the ride until the Officer whispered...

“Because Mikey...It’s what’s best for you.’’

After that the car stayed quiet and the ride felt like it took an hour but in reality it took no longer than twenty minutes to get to the station.

As the Officer led Mikey into the station, he could feel the tension grow and the anxiety radiated of Mikey in waves. The Officer led Mikey into a small private interrogation room and took his handcuffs off and sat him in the chair and looked him over.

The Officer just stood there and studied Mikey for what seemed like an eternity until Mikey broke eye contact with him.

“Mikey... We both know this isn’t your first time being in this police station. Care to explain why you’re back in here?”

Mikey whimpered and glared at the table.

“I didn’t do anything! I don’t know why I’m back here... All I know is that the man in the ditch looks exactly like my friend that passed away 11 years ago and I heard my brother’s name was on some I.D that you found on the other body... What more do you want from me Officer Stanley?”

The Officer sighed and sat across from Mikey and looked him in the eyes. The Officers face held no emotion as he grilled Mikey.

“If you had nothing to do with it then why did you follow the Police cars? Why do you get yourself into these sorts of situations? I understand that you want to find Gerard but give it up Mikey... It’s been 10 years since he disappeared... You of all people should know the possibility of him still being alive is slim to none.”

Mikey whimpered softly and his hands began to fidget.

“I just want to go home... Please just take me home. I had nothing to do with this.”

Officer Stanley looked sympathetically at Mikey and bit his lip.

“I’m sorry Mikey but you won’t be going home for awhile...”

With that Officer Stanley got up and patted Mikey on the shoulder and turned to leave.

“Please stay here until someone comes and brings you to your next destination.”

Mikey sniffled and looked at the Officer with sorrow filled eyes.

“I can’t believe you think I would murder two innocent people..”

Mikey turned away from the Officer and the Officer left without another word. The only sound to be heard in the small room was the soft sound of the door clicking shut then the soft uncontrollable sobs that came from Mikey.
