Hide and Seek (Part One)

     It was late one fall evening when a young boy called out to his brother.

“Gerard!? Okay you win, I can’t find you...”

     Young Mikey waited for Gerard to come out of hiding but Gerard never came out. Mikey whimpered softly as he called out again.

“Come on Gee, Momma is going to be mad that we aren’t home yet... Please Gee, you’re making me worry...”

     You see the Way’s lived in a shady part of New Jersey and in the past few weeks the number of abductions has rose by 50%.

     Mikey jumped as someone came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.

“With all that hollering you’re going to get yourself abducted Mikey...”

     Gerard joked, a look of relief came over Mikey’s face. Mikey wrapped his small arms around his older brother and whispered into his chest.

“I’m sorry Gerard, I was just thought you had gotten taken and I was really worried about you.”

     Mikey’s voice broke as he hugged Gerard tighter and tried hard not to cry. You see Mikey has been really close to gerard ever since he witnessed the death of his best friend last year when he was only five. Since then Mikey has been stuck to Gerard and had developed anti social behaviours.

“I’ll be fine Mikey... I promise that I will always be here for you and that no matter what I will always be with you...”

     Suddenly Gerard was yanked out of Mikey’s grasp and being dragged into a black van, that vanished down the street as soon as the old rusty sliding door had been slid shut.

     Mikey stood there stunned and confused before he snapped back into reality. He ran as fast as he could to his house and as soon as he got into the door he screamed for his parents.

“Mommy! Mommy! Gerard got abducted..."

"Michael, stop that racket... Now what's the matter?"

     Mikey was sobbing and he only got two words out.

"Gerard's gone."

~10 Years Later~

     Mikey sat in his darkened bedroom, not caring if the world around him came crumbling down around him. It had been 10 years to the day that his older brother Gerard had been abducted. Many people say that Mikey was a fool for still searching for his brother after such a long time but on that dreadful night Mikey vowed that no matter what he would never give up the search for his big brother... Anyway isn’t this all just a big game of hide and seek?

     Mikey got off his bed and strode swiftly to his window and moved the blinds out of the way so that he could get a clear view of the street below. The bright sunlight temporarily blinded Mikey but he dared not look away incase today was the day that he saw Gerard waiting for him on the sidewalk.

     Mikey sighed and removed his hand from the blind and plunged his room back into darkness.

     Mikey paced around the room before deciding to get dressed, for the first time in two weeks. He grabbed out a pair of black jeans and a black t-shirt to match, he quickly scooped up a pair of socks and got dressed.

     Once he finished dressing he combed his long hair, he rarely let anyone touch him hence why his hair is so long.

     Mikey sighed and opened his bedroom door and peeked out to see if his parents were at work yet. When he saw that the cost was clear he quickly headed down the stairs and out the front door of his old Victorian style house.

     Mikey walked down the street, his face was a blank slate not a flicker of emotion dared to show, he walked to the last place that he had seen Gerard all but 10 short years ago. He sighed as he sat on the crib and let his mind wander for a brief second, a luxury that he normally wouldn’t allow himself. He found his mind wandering to the night that Gerard got taken and he sighed not wanting to outright remember the night, he got up and began walking towards the edge of the town. Mikey scanned the faces around him as he passed by pedestrians sharing the sidewalk with him, he scanned the faces with procion looking for any possible faces with Gerard’s features in them... Sadly today was looking like it was going to be a bust as he was nearing the end of the cities limits.

     Mikey gave one final look around and was startled as two police cars zoomed past him, lights flashing and sirens blaring, Mikey thought to himself that he might as well go see what was up and followed the police cars.

     Soon the cars were way out of city limits and that’s when Mikey noticed that there had to be about 5 or 6 more cruisers already at the scene. He slowly approached the area and that’s when he overheard an officer say.

“We’ve got two bodies... One has an I.D in the pocket... I can’t really make it out but I think it says Gerard Way.”

//Hello my awesome readers, I just thought you deserved to know that I will be updating this in parts. Depending on how I feel, I have a bad sickness, I will try to update at least twice a week until the book is done.
