Bigi’s P.O.V.

“Sisters?” I asked her

“Yeah. Fatima and Maxine. I had met Fatima before actually but I haven’t seen her for almost four years.”

That’s weird. Kelsey had never mentioned a sister named Fatima and in their home, there wasn’t any picture of her. Just Kelsey and Maxine.

“You haven’t met her? Well, she’s always sick anyway so she doesn’t really go out that often. Anyway, I gotta go. Gabriel and I have-- well he prepared dinner for me so I gotta go home. Be ready by noon tomorrow, alright?” She said closing the door behind her.

I’m sure Kelsey has never mentioned Fatima to me before and I’m sure she has her reasons.

I looked at my phone, contemplating if I should be calling Kelsey or not. Maybe I should. She’ll be very upset if I don’t.

She answered after two rings.

Hello? Bigi?”

“Oh, hey. I just called to check up on you.” I said. I heard her sniffles on the background. “Are you crying?” I asked her getting worried as to why she was crying.

“Sort of. I’m gonna miss my boyfriend and the rest of the gang while I’m away.” I chuckled at her response, she barely becomes sweet to me .

“It’s not like we’re not going to see each other again. We’ll still do that. Besides, the vacation is just for a week.” I told her.

And just like that, we had spent the whole night talking to each other. Turns out her allergic rhinitis had kicked in that’s why she was having a hard time talking properly and sounding like someone who had just cried.

My bag was already prepared because Kelsey kept on telling me to pack them beforehand. I’m not like her who had planned to bring at least a couple of bags with her on her trip. She had actually dragged me last weekend to buy something for her cousins and even her best friend Aubrey which I had met through one of her video calls with her. I enjoyed talking to her although half of the time they were talking in Filipino. It sounded like Spanish though.

“What time are you leaving tomorrow?” I asked her

“Around 8:00 am. Dad said we should be at the airport at least an hour before the flight so I guess we’ll leave around 7:00.”

“Ah, we’ll be leaving at noon.” I heard another sniffle on the background and I absentmindedly smiled at the thought of her. Softly tanned face and red nose scrunched and sniffling. She always looks like a kid whenever her allergy kick in.

“Wanna hear a secret?”

“What is it?” now I know, she’s acting like a kid.

“I've always wanted to go on a trip without my parents but they had never let me to.” I heard a sigh on the background and I laughed at her.

“Let’s wait til we become eighteen, maybe we’ll get to travel together.”

I’m having a bad feeling about this but I had to suppress that especially when I’m talking to her.

After a couple of minutes, we both dropped the call since she still needs to prepare early tomorrow. A sigh escaped my lips while I laid on my back on the bed.

This is the first time I had actually wanted for vacation to end so fast. It’s gonna be a long ass week.
