"Yes, ma." She agreed. She had really seen that side of him.

"He finds it hard to trust and accept people. So all you have to do is stay strong, be patient and understanding with him."

"Okay, ma. Thanks for the advice ma."

"It is nothing. And one more thing, you are a woman but it shouldn't stop you from voicing your thoughts. Don't let him or his money intimidate you. Love is shared equally. So is a relationship, there is no forty-sixty in a relationship or thirty-seventy. It should be fifty-fifty. There must be equal rights between the two partners. Don't let any man ride you." Mrs Grace's advice on the phone.

Lola couldn't help the small smile that curled up on her face. The words of this woman she hadn't met or seen had made her day in a big way. She spoke like someone who knows her grandson well and wants the best for him. But at the same time want his relationship to be good. She knew his flaws and want her to know about them. She knew if she can accept him for his flaws that is when she will know there is real love in the relationship. This is her first test and she knew she might not know what her second test will be like.

But that is if you are still with Demilade. Her subconsciousness mocked her.

But she got to learn from someone who had stayed longer on earth and had more experience. She talk out of experience when she said no man should ride or intimidate her. And what is more surprising was, she wouldn't support her grandson if do the same thing.

A typical example of a feminist. She thought with a smile because she is also one.

"Thank you very much ma for the advice. I'm so grateful." She appreciated.

"It's no worry. Take care of yourself and my grandson."

"I will ma. Thank you ma. "

"Hello, Lola." Mrs Jolaoluwa's voice came back on the phone.

"Ma. Take care of yourself ma."

"You too. My greetings to Demilade when he gets back." She said.

"I will. Bye, ma." And the call ends. She sighed as she drop the phone on the floor where she had been sitting before she answered the call.

Her heart was beating fast when Mrs Jolaoluwa, Demilade's mom had said she want to give the phone to her mother. She had been scared and she thought the woman will start critiquing her and asking questions but she didn't. She wonders how Demilade got to have such a simple and easygoing family and he isn't one.

Maybe his money had gotten into his head. She thought.

But what about that other side of him that you saw during the weekend? That side that makes you think you are falling for this man? The sweet side? Her subconsciousness keeps asking her.

She just closes her eyes and blocks the voice out of her head.

Hours later, when she sat in her room watching a movie with only half of her mind on it, Someone knock on the door of her room. She jerk her head toward the door and wondered who is there. It can't possibly be Demilade. He would still be at work.

"It's Debbie." Deborah's voice said from the other side of the door.

"Come in," Lola said quickly and she watch as Deborah walk into the room in her fitted jeans and an off-white blouse. "Hi. Welcome."
