"You could have thought of something else Demmy."

"And what will that be? Apologize? Stand up and leave? Keep quiet and watch her insult me? Just smile at her? Tell me Bayo what would you have done? Moreover, she is my girlfriend in front of them and I got a reputation to maintain. There were also mocking her. So I should just sit and let them mock her?"

"Fine, I understand. So what are you going to do? She's probably hurt." Bayo asked.

He heaved a sigh before replying. "I know physical contact wasn't part of the deal but we've got to do it in a situation like this."

"You should apologize and explain things to her Demmy. Don't be irrational. You used her, so apologized." Bayo advise.

"I will." He answered.

Bayo nodded. He pats him on the shoulder and said. "Alright then. Good night."

"You too. My greetings to your wife and daughter." He replied with a nod and he press his car remote. It sounded and the light turn on. And he walked away in the direction of the car.

Demilade climbed into the car and he looks at Lola who was facing the other side looking out through the window at the dark environment. He told the driver to take them home. Then he turned to Lola.

"Lola." He called calmly.

"What?" She asked without looking at him. He understood she was angry so he decided not to push it.

"Look, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I have to do something for the sake of both of us. I.."

"Really Demilade? For the sake of both of us? Or your own sake? I don't know anything about you but I still try to defend you. I try to act cool. I didn't say you shouldn't do anything. All I wanted was for you to at least give me a sign. Something, anything. Just a sign about what you wanted to do. But no. You think you could fucking do anything you want. So much for I stand on my words. " She said angrily, rolling her eyes.

Demilade heaved a sigh and he try to control his temper. If it wasn't for the situation at hand, he won't sit and watch Lola talk to him that way. She indirectly insulted him that he wasn't a man if he couldn't keep his promise. But he has to be deaf to it right now. Getting mad at her will only escalate the matter.

"I know I made those rules and I would be lying if I say I didn't hate to break my own rules. What kind of person would it make me? A liar. And I hate to back down from my own words. Moreover what kind of sign should I have made to make you understand that that was what I wanted to do? There were staring at us. Do you think they won't know? All eyes were on us. So don't blame me if I didn't give a..... sign." He demonstrated with his hand. Then he looks away.

Lola said nothing. He was right. Even if he didn't try to make it sound better and more pleasant. He was still right. They were all staring at them. They were curious to know what they were going to do. It's like they were waiting for them to prove Golden wrong.

Although touching her wasn't part of the deal, it had helped save her image. At least it made them believe they were dating. And it will save her whenever she meets any of them in the future. In a kind of way, he helped her. The disbelief, shock and envy were on some of them. And it won't have happened if he didn't do what he did.

"But I'm sorry." He apologized.

"Make sure it didn't happen again. And If we are going to go to an event that your female enemies are going to be in, please let me know before hands." She said and she plug in her earpiece and increased the volume to the loudest and turn to look out the window.

Demilade just stare at her in disbelief. She really got some gut. He thought.

So he kissed her. But no feeling attached. And she had warned him to tell her ahead if his female enemies would be in any of their future outings together.

Funny!

Don't mind me I just love sassy girls. I'm a feminist and believe women should always defend themselves and fight for what is right for them. Let's be honest, our society in Nigeria is patriarchal and women have little say. They feel they are supposed to stoop low for every insult which isn't true. Women should learn to defend themselves and stop letting men take advantage of them. We are all human. So let's fight for our rights girls, women.

Don't mind the long speech but it's the truth and it sometimes hurt how women are treated in some parts of the world. Nigeria included.

So how is the chapter?
