Aries isn't exactly what you'd call "the average high schooler". Even though she's on the cheerleading team, she doesn't quite fit in with the other girls, let alone the cheerleader stereotype. Aries enjoys cheerleading as a way to relieve stress rather than a hobby or a passion like the others, and definitely not as a way to climb the high school social hierarchy.
Aries's passions are more to the creative side, like writing songs and inventing guitar melodies to go along with them. She's fascinated by horoscopes and astrology (big surprise from a girl named after her own zodiac sign). But she mostly enjoys just chilling with Sam.
Sam and Aries met in 7th grade during recess. Sam had gotten into a fight with one of the boys in the 9th grade and Aries hopped in to deescalate the fight before a teacher would notice and punish them both. Since then, Sam and Aries have been inseparable.
Currently, Aries is sitting in her bed, listening to songs that she's never heard before. Sam sent her a playlist after they jokingly argued about the best music genre. Sam is convinced it's Indie Rock, so that's what Aries is currently swaying her head to. Aries is scrolling through her phone, when a message pops up from Zack "I MISS YA, WANNA GO FOR A DRIVE AFTER SCHOOL TOMORROW? <3" and writing herself a mental note to call him before she falls asleep tonight.
Aries swipes the notification away and continues scrolling through her timeline. Most of the pictures are of celebrities Aries idolises, or kids from her year at school posting about the party on Friday. She scrolls past those ones, but then freezes on a video that Jordan posted. It was a new move she learnt, an impressive twist-like flip that Jordan landed perfectly, and then threw the football across the field. Aries recognized Josh's voice yell "wooooo!" as Jordan landed. Aries watched the video again, and again, and then once more. It's been about a month since Jordan joined the guys football team, and she is crushing it there. Aries desperately wants to be friends with her, she's just so cool. Aries keeps trying to talk to Jordan in an attempt to get to know her, but gets the most insane amount of butterflies in her stomach at the mere thought of having to speak to her. But you know, she's just cool, everyone feels that way when making a friend, right?
No Aries, they don't. But she doesn't know that, at least not yet.
