She nodded in agreement.

"I want to ask something of both of you."

"Go ahead ma." They urged her.

"I don't want Demilade to know about what happened today." She looked at their faces to see their expression. It held nothing. Just the serious face when they mean business. "He shouldn't know about any of it. The people that came to visit. No one should mention it to him because I know that he sometimes asks you about what is going on with me."

"Okay, ma. It is safe with us." Peter said. Tayo nodded in agreement.

"Thank you."

"It's nothing ma." They both chorused.

"Okay. You can both leave for today. We will see tomorrow."

"Alright, ma. Good night ma."

"Good night. Safe journey."

Day 22 continues...

Demilade watched as Lola walked out of his office. He regrets what he said. He places his hand on the table and rests his head on his palm. He groaned, frustrated. He kicked a file away from his side in annoyance.

He regretted what he said immediately after the words were out of his mouth.

He didn't mean to hurt her that way. She tried to hide the embarrassment and the hurt of his word but he could clearly see them on her face and her eyes were filled with tears already.

His words were so cruel. That he knew and admitted. He didn't intend to make her feel that way. He wanted to make himself believe he doesn't care and that she doesn't matter. He wants to believe he has no feelings attached to what he did with her during the weekend. He wants to believe she didn't mean anything order than the fact she is one of his employees that works for him.

          But it's all a lie

It's a big lie. He was just denying it. He actually cares. What she does matters to him even if he won't admit it. He cares about Lola. He realizes that the moment those words came out of his mouth. He knew hurting her was nothing he wanted. And he hate the pain that was in her voice when she apologized for something she didn't have to.

She cared and she attempted to do something he never expected her to do. No one had ever made lunch and bring it to his office. No one, not even his mother. She remembered that he didn't eat much last night and didn't even take breakfast. And she decided to take her time to prepare his favourite meal which he knew was going to taste so good.

But he chased her away. And he repaid her generosity with hateful words and hurt her.

The first time she made him breakfast, he had turned her down rudely and today she made him lunch willingly and he did worst.

He doesn't want to believe that he cares or that it matters. He had said words meaner to girls... to others. But this does matter.

But on the other way round, it seems it is for the better. They need to get their heads right. This is just a deal. A contract. And no feeling was supposed to be attached to it. He doesn't want her to think he is so good. Or that whatever he did during the weekend meant so much or have any feeling attached to it.
