Taehyung

You should've known better than to have accepted your friend's invitation to the party. A party you had no idea who was throwing, one that your friend had somehow ended up with an invite to along with an extra that she had extended to you. After a day full of continuous classes and evening shift at the café you worked at, you should've known better than to go along with your friend's whims. Not that you didn't like her, it was just that she was much better at socializing than you, and you were too tired to even attempt. The only thing that seemed to be keeping you from just falling asleep on the floor was the floor itself. It was made of marble! The house itself was a strange contrast to any other hosting house you'd been to before. It was huge, to say the least, and the decoration inside was grand. Curtains made of a material you were almost too sure was silk, beautiful chandeliers hanging from every high ceiling, eye-catching paintings adorning every free wall, heck, even the door was opened by a man who called himself the butler. Everything about the house screamed rich, and you couldn't help but wonder who it belonged to. As far as the few people you'd spoken to, the host was a very close friend of the person that had sent out the invitations and he wasn't the kind that bothered with parties himself. Some even said that he ran an underground business to justify the enormous amount of wealth that was obvious to everyone who attended the party. You weren't too sure what underground business meant but one thing you were sure of was that if you didn't busy yourself with exploring whatever parts of the house you could, you'd find yourself asleep in less than ten minutes.

You slowly started to push yourself away from the main crowd and past a few people here and there around the corners, until you made it all the way back to the entrance hall, which was as big as the main hall itself. The butler was nowhere in sight and you decided to walk around a bit. There were two more paths besides the one you'd returned from, one to the right that led to a turn and another up the stairs on the left. Surely, the host wouldn't mind if you went up to the first floor looking for some privacy, right? Only, you weren't really looking for privacy.

Smoothening down your short blue dress, you started softly walking up the ornate stairs with golden railings. Paintings lined the walls along the way up, and you walked slowly, just to take in the beauty of each piece of work. You wondered if the host had just bought these paintings.....or hand painted them himself. Nevertheless, they seemed to take your breath away, especially the last one beside the landing. It was of a strikingly handsome blue-haired man, whose dark eyes seemed to pierce into you. A rose was held near his lips by a near perfect hand, long fingers glittering with rings. It was only when a sudden voice was heard from behind that you jumped in shock, spinning around to see who'd spoken. Your heart was racing. The dim lighting of the second floor made it hard to see but you realized that there was no one standing there, and that the voice was floating out from an open door on the left of the hallway in front of you.

Tentatively stepping forward, as softly as you possibly could, you inched closer to the open door, drawn in by the deep smooth voice you were hearing. It wasn't until you were a few feet away that you could make out what the voice was saying. "When will they all leave? Jimin's brought in quite the bunch this time. I can't get my work done with all the noise coming from down there." "We could ask them to leave in an around an hour or so, sir," spoke another voice that sounded a lot like the butler that had greeted you at the door. A loud sigh was heard. "And the reports?" asked the first voice. "We've just received them, sir." There was a rustling of papers before everything turned quiet. You waited with bated breath for a few moments when the deeper voice spoke again, much louder this time, "These idiots think they can take everything away from me! After I've worked so hard on keeping our business under covers. After all this time. I want those men brought here right this instance, and you'll watch me rip their heads out!" A loud slam rang through the air, making you jump. You were almost a hundred percent sure that this person was the host based on how the butler had spoken to him with so much respect, but the word 'business' had undeniably caught your attention. Your mind raced with thoughts. Was this the underground business people had been talking about? You hadn't realized how the air had grown quiet again, almost a pin-drop silence, because your mind had too preoccupied with thoughts about the host, and your hand had lifted up to absent-mindedly run through your hair.

"What are you doing here?" You gasped in shock before turning to face the voice that had spoken. For a moment, you thought that the man in the painting had jumped out of the frame, and quickly peeked behind to double check.

Taehyung was confused. What on earth were you doing outside his office? And who on earth were you? The shock at his appearance was written all over your face. When he noticed how you seemed to look back at the painting near the stairway, a smile slowly replaced the frown on his face. It wasn't the first time people had been shocked by his appearance. "Just confirming, I'm a real person," he said. At that, you shook your head as if to clear your mind and then immediately looked embarrassed. "I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to eavesdrop! I was just.......wanting to explore. I'm sorry!" You had decided against lying to him that you'd wanted privacy for it sure didn't seem like you did. Taehyung's eyebrows shot up. "Explore?" "Uh...yes....I....I wasn't liking the party very much," you replied, looking down to hide your blushing face, although in the dim hallway it would've been difficult to see anyway. You were a little worried that you suddenly seemed to be very honest. Maybe it was the aura emanating from this man that was making you act weird......

Taehyung was more than calm now. At first he'd been worried that a spy had overheard his conversation but you didn't look like a spy....and even if you were one you seemed easy enough to take down if he had to. You, on the other hand, were shocked to see the resemblance between the Taehyung and the man in the painting. What shocked you even more was that this whole time you'd been thinking that the host would be an old man with a Leonardo da Vinci air to him.

"I hate parties too," he suddenly said, making you tilt your head in confusion. "But you're hosting one?" Your question made Taehyung chuckle. "That's my friend's doing, not mine." You stared at his sharp jawline, before speaking again, "So.......you run an underground business while hosting parties." Taehyung tilted his head to match yours. You weren't a spy.....were you? Eyes narrowed, he asked, "Just how much of the conversation I had in there did you hear?" His sudden suspicion made you backtrack immediately. "Oh...no, I wasn't implying that I heard anything. Just that.....well, you see, everyone down there was saying that you run an underground business, but I have no idea what that means. Well, except that it involves ripping people's heads out?" your words ended up sounding like a question, making the blue haired man throw his head back in a laugh. There was no way you were a spy.

"Since we seem to have a common distaste for parties, maybe I could explain what my business is all about?" "Wait, really?" Was this man really offering to explain all about his business to you? "Of course." Taehyung's eyes shone and your heart started to beat faster.

"I don't think I could pass up the chance on getting to know you better."

I'll admit that I kinda lost the flow of the type of scenarios in this one compared to the beginning, but I hope this wasn't too bad.
