"He passed out from the pain."

You look up at the doctor, "Is that bad?!"

"No, looks like the bullet went straight through. He just needs some stitches, he'll be fine."

You slouch against the wall in relief. This must be what Chan feels every time you've gotten hurt. You're not used to seeing him like this considering he usually isn't involved in combat like you are.

"Wait in the living room, I can't work with you breathing down my neck."

You're too shaken up to fire back a response. You head out of the room glancing at your brother as if he would disappear.

Since there's no couches or chairs to speak of, you decide to lay on the sitting pillows by the coffee table. Your sleepless night catches up to you as you drift to drea m l a n d . . .

You jolt awake with a layer of sweat on your body. Strange dream, you've never had a dream like that before. You feel your pocket for the fossil and to your delight it's still there. Getting that fossil is the whole reason Chan got hurt

You sit up and notice someone had laid a blanket on you. You push it off, guilt creeping into you.

Chan comes to mind and you get up to move to the back room. You swipe the curtain door to the side and see your brother peacefully slumbering. You see the bandage on his side and a weight seems to lift off your shoulders.

You hear a thud from the room next door. You look to your left to see the curtain opened to the bedroom. Without thinking you walk to the entrance to look inside. You're met with the doctor's bare back as he puts a new shirt on. You spin around about to walk away.

"You need something?"

You slowly turn back around and the doctor is fully clothed and packing a small bag.

"I was...looking around."

"Oh, didn't see enough of the place last time you were here?"

You pause not knowing how to respond.

He chuckles sarcastically, "Well, I guess you don't remember much since we were busy...doing other things."

Your face heats up and he walks past you with a sly smirk on his face.

It takes you a second to realize that he's about to leave, "Where are you going?"

He continues grabbing vials from the kitchen as you follow him.

"It's 9am the market just opened up."

"Let me come with."

He stops and crosses his arms. you halt in your tracks when you meet his eyes. Despite his tone they're not angry, they're hurt.

"Last time I saw you, you were putting on your clothes and leaving at 3 in the morning with no explanation. A year later you show up acting like we're old friends catching up on each other's lives. I mean...do you really expect me to just pretend nothing ever happened?"

A lump builds in your throat and you look at the ground. This is why you never wanted to come back here.

"I'm so sorry, Minho."

You pause and force yourself to look into his eyes, hoping he can see your sincerity.

"I was in a dark place and I should have never left like that...but I've changed and I want to start fresh. I promise I'm nothing like the person you met last year."

You catch a glimpse of pain on his face before he turns around. He walks to the door with his bag and you sigh. You don't blame him, you wouldn't forgive yourself either.

He opens the door and freezes. You look at him in confusion as he looks back at you.

"You coming or not?"
