Gruvia 1: The Storm

"Aw man, what the hell is up with this weather?" I grumbled as I walked into the guild hall. It was as noisy as ever, despite the downpour outside. I sighed and went up to the bar and ordered my usual to Mirajane. "Hey Mira, do you know why the weather changed? I thought they said it was gonna be sunny today."

Mira turned to me with a smile as she set my cup down. "I dunno Gray, you're right though. They weren't calling for rain at all this week. I wonder what could've caused such a sudden, heavy, rain."

I raised an eyebrow at her. Why the hell is she putting so much emphasis on 'heavy rain'?  Who knows, it is Mira after all. She's always just scheming who she can get together.

"What is it Juvia?" I asked slightly annoyed. Everytime she seems me it's always 'Gray my love!' And clinging to me.

"Um, Gray? Juvia isn't here."

I spat a bit of my drink towards Mira and looked around like an idiot. Sure enough, no Juvia. But she's always here. I let out a nervous laugh that sounded more like a bark. "Heh, I guess she's not. Force of habit. Have you uh, seen her today?"

"Nope, can't say that I have. Maybe the bad weather kept her at home."

"Yeah, maybe... later Mira." I hopped off of the barstool and made my way to a booth near the door. It felt nice to not have Juvia hanging all over me for once. I sat down and looked at the door, placing my chin in my hand. Although, it is lonely without her.

"Hey Gray!"

"Hey Juv-oh it's you Lucy." Why am I so disappointed? I look up at Lucy and she's got a worried look on her face. "What?"

"You're acting really weird. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, it's just...weird I guess, not having Juvia around. Have you seen her?"

"No, I just got here a few minutes ago. I woke up to Natsu and Happy asleep in my apartment. Again." She had a slight blush on her face and was trying her best to be mad. "I figured I'd come here before they woke up."

"What's going on with you and Flame brain?" Her entire face got red so I sat up straight, feeling a smirk on my face. "You in looove?"

"Keep your voice down," she hissed as she slid into the booth opposite of me. She turned her head to make sure no one was looking to see how embarrassed she was. "You know everyone thinks we should be together, and Mira always goes crazy about it."

"Yeah, I get that with Juvia too. But that doesn't answer my question."

She sighed. "I love all of you guys in the guild, you know that. I would put my life on the line to protect all of you. But, if I'm being honest...it's different with Natsu. And I don't know why. But it's like this intense 'I need to protect him I can't lose him' feeling." She let out a bitter laugh. "And I know it's ridiculous to say I need to protect Natsu when he's the one who is always saving me and so much stronger than me, but I still feel that way."

"Lucy, all teasing aside, it seems like you have feelings for Natsu." Her eyes widened and I tried to give her my most reassuring smile. "You really didn't think of that? Or you just didn't want to accept it?"

"The second one. What if he doesn't feel the same about me?"

"Lucy. I doubt that he would break into your house every night if he didn't feel something. He's just too dense to realize it."

"Speaking of dense." She propped her elbows on the table and laced her fingers together, placing her chin on them. "You. Juvia. What's going on there while we're discussing love lives?"
